I want a big appology from all those people in this forum who thought I was an idiot when I said Barcelona are not a great team and have no chance at winning anything.

They are now in a relegation battle, that sums them up now.

I can't believe some people here actually had them as the best team in their champions league group and even top 5 in the champions league.
They have not beaten a real top European team all season.

Even so, they will get out of their easy group. European teams have not figured out the formula to stop Barça. Spanish teams have. It comes with familiarity and Van Gaal's predictable system. And even with their mediocre squad they can set the CL record for consecutive wins if they beat Inter. Not likely but in 3 months when the CL resumes their form may change.

Barca aren't going to win anything with the current squad. They are going to have to dig deep into their pockets and get some quality players, especially defenders. Their defense today was horrendous. I still feel they will advance to the CL quarterfinals but that is as far as they will go. Once they start playing teams like Arsenal, Milan, Inter, Man Utd., Juve, Real, Valencia, etc. thier form in the CL will change significantly. I don't think Van Gaal can survive a season where the club don't qualify for the CL, and it doesn't look like they will this year, even if they go far in the CL. The only thing that can save his job is if he wins the CL, and it ain't gonna happen. I think Rivaldo is sitting back right now and laughing.

That's so true, and what I've been saying since all the hype about the first group stage. Galatasary were so poor they finished last, the group was awful.

When they play Inter, and other good teams, we'll see the real Barcelona. Newcastle could have scored 3 or 4 against them, and who knows if Shearer and Bellamy were playing.

They have some great players, but no defence or team work. When they don't qualify for the CL next season, heads will roll.

0-3 at home to Sevilla who hadn't won away all season was the icing on the cake, pathetic.
