Ok, i know it's about Celtic but still.. Xavi and Marquez would do an awesome job at Spurs. Xavi could be the playmaker and Marquez the Centre back. Don't care so much about Overmars and Gabri, or even Riquelme really - although he is good too. Just not been given the chance to shine. Another name to add to the list is Saviola. Barca have signed a lot of players in attacking roles, and if they are willing to sell these players there will be a lot of takers. Any thoughts?
It's possible that Barca will be letting players go, certainly in attacking midfield they have too many players. I dunno if these players are genuinely moving on let alone outside of Spain, although I'm sure Frank has his eyes on it. Overmars is a possible alternative for left wing seeing as the club are meant to be looking at Kily, but he's an ex-goon and his best days are behind him. Riquelme could be the next Ardiles! I don't think the club is gearing up to play with a central playmaker though, I reckon it will be more about wide players providing the creativity, but he'd be a very welcome arrival. I'm not sure about his status with Villareal, whether his loan lasts for longer or if they have an option to buy.
First of all I don't know how much faith to put in this article as the writer obviously is doing a half-azz job. It's Club America ... they don't call themselves "FC" anything. And more importantly, Mexico is in North America, not South America ... sheesh, at least get the contentinent right if u are gonna write an article. So I think this guy is just playing fast and loose to sell articles. If Xavi or Riquelme welme were available, I'd be interested, particularly Xavi. I don't know how they'd adjust to the Premiership, as it doesn't really suit their styles, but they're both extremely talented. I'm not a Marquez fan. He's talented, but he seems to underachieve, piss off teammates and coaches, and he's a very dirty player--and he really doesn't need to be. I'm not a Tano fan, but Marquez is just as bad, maybe worse. But at least he's improved his play since he struggled for the LA Galaxy. Speaking of La Liga attacking midfielders like Xavi and Riquelme, I'd love to snatch Pablo Aimar. I thinks he's fantastic. -Digital

He did well at Monaco and they're no slouches when it comes to developing players! I've not seen any link from the club to him though, just to Nourredine Naybet of La Coruna, who is an old man at 34 but has been a terrific defender for the last 10 years.

That article is utter madness. Sure players like Overmars, and Kluivert are speculated to leave. Riquelme is also a possibility. Althought it'd be a very high gamgle on Riquelme who has resurrected his form w/ Villareal he may seek a permanent move there. As a Barca supporter, selling Marquez seems daft to me eventhough he was angered the DT, twice on 2 seperate occasions by speaking out to the media. As Barca are thin inthe back it wouldn't be smart to shrink our advantage over Madrid by selling defenders after 1 season..
Doesn't mean it's not true. Strange things happen in football. Barcelona need to cut their Non-EU players down, that includes people like Marquez, Ronaldinho, Saviola.. Both Marquez and Saviola have been linked with moves away. Saviola to Depor for Luque, actually.
The problem Barca have got is that they're (i think this is right) only allowed 4 non-EU players in their squad, with only 3 allowed in the matchday squad. Marquez and Saviola and Riquelme are all deemed foreigners. Also Rustu Recber.
I think Xavi would go well with Spurs. I think Saviola is a great player and Barca should not let him go. However, if they do let him go I dont think Spurs should sign him. Argentines do not usually fair too well in England.
Ossie and Ricky!! But I suppose on the other hand there is Tanno You're right about some of them finding it tough, it is a difference and even the best ones can take a year to adjust. I think generally the Argentine league players have handled it better than the Brazilians though.
