Hola to all: Anyone else been amazed by FCB's complete failure to win anything since 2000 and the fact that the club is in complete chaos? Just when you think it could not get any worse, FCB is having elections in June to see who will replace Joan Gaspart. In 3 years Gaspart sunk an already sunken ship. Alfonso, De La Pena, Enke, Dani, Geovanni, Simao, etc were all signed for BIG bucks (180.000.000 euros) and NONE OF THEM have done anything. Rivaldo left on a free transfer even though 6 months before Manu and the Italian clubs were trying to out bid themselves, but Gaspart claimed that Rivo was not for sale and never would be. Then Gaspart signs VAN GAAL!!!! As a cule, I have to say that Barca is run by a bunch of losers, from the groundskeeper to the TV3 to the players to the socios. I have never liked Madrid but what they have done since Florentino is a commitment to WIN. It appears that next years team will be completely different, expect for all except Xavi, Puyol, Luis Enrique, Saviola, and maybe Riquelme and Kluivert to stay, a major house cleaning will have to done in order to fix this mess. I truely is a sad day in BCN when the team is fighting for the UEFA spot and cannot even win La Copa de Catalunya. Forca Barca!
I agree on everything you have said. It's nice to know that there are some Barza Fans out there. There is a rumor that Morientes from Real is very unhappy. I can see why, having to compete with Raul and Ronaldo for a starting job is nearly imposible. Barza should try to pick him up. What do you think?
Morientes was part of the reason the first Ronaldo to Madrid deal that failed. He was supposed to go to Barca, but didn't want to go, stalling and ultimatley destroying the first attempt. I don't think he's had a change of heart since then.
Guys, we have a Barça forum it's in here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=233
The Ronaldo Deal According to the Catalan Press (and if it is written here it has to be true), the Ronaldo deal was that Ronaldo would be traded to Real with Morientes going to Inter Milan which in turn would send him to Barca and they would receive some $$$$$. Of course, Gaspart figured that he would try to pull one over on Madrid and thought that if Barca was not involved Madrid would not be able to get Ronaldo......he was wrong. In the end Gaspart nixed the deal, not Morientes, and Florentino simply paid Ronaldo's transfer fee and agreed to send a player to be named later, which turned out to be Solari but he refused to go. So I believe that Real had to pay Inter even more money for the deal. Morientes teamed with Saviola and Kluivert, wow, that would have been a kick butt attack. As i mentioned before, Barca wil be cleaning house so in the end Morientes may end up in BCN but rumor is that Engkand and Italy are asking about him.....stay tuned.
