Can someone fill me in with the history surrounding the famous crest. And why is the english flag apart of it?
I think the club was actually started by English expats in Barcelona, I got that from the "Height of Passion" series on History Channel International.
Top left is Saint George's cross - Saint George is the patron saint of Catalunya Top Right are the red and yellow stripes from Catalunya's flag Bottom stripes are from La Blaugrana, Barcelona's shirt. The colors were taken from FC Basel. The founder of FC Barcelona, Swiss man Joan Gamper, chose the colors because Basel is the team for which he used to play.
