    HT 0-0

Barca have had several good chances according to Uefa.com matchtracker. I will wait to hear Mario's version.

3 yellows all handed out to Juve players.

    Davids, Montero and Zambrotta

Gol by Nedved. Crucial to Biaconeri.

Barca have failed to connect on several good chances and then Nedved puts one home requiring Barca to score 2 now to advance. If they can get one back they will force golden goal time.

No. Full 30min is played. So if Juve score, Barca would need to score twice.

This is killing me right now. Second OT, sounds like Juventus is drained. Playing with only ten men.

Ugh. I don't think we can get to penalties.

I cannot believe that they lost with:

    1) as many chances as they had
    2) an extra man

    UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    Intertoto here we come

Well that sucks. Besides that no PK call on Thuram we really have nobody to blame but ourselves. Kluivert and Luis Enrique had golden chances to put away the game. You cannot miss those kind of chances.

Uefa matchtracker made it sound like they were missing sitters? Did anybody see the game live and can u comment on that? This just reminds me of last years loss to Madrid when Kluivert kept ***************ing up and missing clear chances.

I listened to the panel show and they made it sound like Luis Enrique's miss was a tap-in. I didn't hear them talk about Kluivert's missed chances.

I dropped a pretty big f-bomb in my office when I saw that Zalayeta scored. "Crap" was the strongest curse word i've ever heard at my workplace before today.

If this result doesn't symbolize this nightmare of a season, I don't know what does: The away team, down to 10 men, weathering the storm to get to PKs, scores against the run of play to knock out Barça.

    Que lastima.

Yeah, you're dead right. This game pretty much summed up Barça's entire season. I thought possibly winning the CL would not only be a huge accomplishment, but pretty much wash away all the crap that's happened domestically in La Liga. Hopefully they'll make the best out of the rest of the season and go out with their heads held high.

At the end of the season, there's no way in hell Barca will be going out with their heads held high. Their heads will be down deep into the ground like a bunch of Ostridges.

Barcelona is one of the most revered and admired clubs in the Spanish league, for them to bow out an entire season like this won't be easy to swallow for not just the fans but the entire establishment that is FCB. I am saddened that they oculdn't compensate their poor domestic run through a CL win, but that's just life and while they played a slight dominating match against Juve, the fact that they should have won will haunt them for some time and hopefully, that psychological damage won't spill over onto the next season. If anything this horrendous season should be a painful kick in their butts to wake them up for next season.

I really thought they would storm through the CL and win it.

Well, so much for looking at the positive side.

You're right though, it's a tough pill to swallow, considering their reputation as a world class organization. But there are positives to look at. They set a record in the CL and played some great soccer. Van Gaal finally got sacked and Gaspart is out of power. Yeah, it didn't happen soon enough, but under Antic, they seem to be a team again. There will be tremendous pressure for Barça to succeed next season, and like you said, it should light a fire under their asses and have them make a serious run at some silverware. All we can hope for now is that they win their remaining games to show something for the fans in what has been a rough season.

This loss is emblematic of the reign of Joan Gaspart. Much like when a baseball pitcher leaves the game with people still on base, he is responsible for those runners. This season is still under the umbrella of Gaspart and his ridiculous mal-informed spending spree that saw FCB go hopelessly into debt, without return on investment of ANY silverware.

When things don't go your way...they really don't go your way.

All attention must now be shifted to getting up to 6th place in La Liga. I would prefer we avoid the Intertoto, because that would most likely mean that they would not to their proposed USA tour this summer.

time to seriously evaulate what the squad will look like next season.

The question is will people like Saviola stay at Nou Camp next season?

Saviola's not going anywhere. Even though he's been Barça's most consistent forward, he's still too young for any club to gamble and pay the monstrous transfer fee that Barca would command. Plus, I doubt that he's looking to pack it up just because the club had a miserable season both on and off the field.

I doubt that there will be too much transfer action this summer, mainly because the club is supposedly in debt. Plus, nobody knows who the new president and manager will be either. Also, I think that the club is overly conscious that Real Madrid has recently spent less money on 1 great player per year than Barça has on a half dozen unproven players. There will definitely be some fat-trimming (Dani?, Rochemback? deBoer? Reiziger? others?) and a purchase, but don't expect an exodus to or from the club.
