Just received an email from the 'soccer on television' website, announcing ESPN2 is showing ManU-RM, not Juve-Barca

The bigger kick in the nuts is that they were set to show Barça - Juve and changed it. Putas.

Aren't they still showing one of the legs of Juve-Barça? As a fan of Spanish football, I was just hoping for some variety in the telecast, since ESPN will only be showing 2 matches of the 8 (darnit). Or will they be showing both legs of ManU-Real?

They moved the first leg of Barca/Juve to Wednesday...and since we only get CL on one day now we won't see it. Of course, aside from the fact that the MUFC/Real leg features arguably the two most popular teams on the planet, there is probably a very important bass fishing tournament to show (oops! Silly me, I just checked the ESPN site and there is a high school basketball tournament on).

Until another network buys the US rights to the CL, don't expect to get anything but disappointment.

It truly is a travesty that the company that owns the rights to this chosses to not use them...they show so much crap on that network, from 8 hours of non-stop Sportscenter reruns to bass fishing to the worlds strongest man, to cheerleading...you cant find time to squeeze in coverage of the greatest club championship in the world? They had awesome ratings for soccer at 4:30 AM during the world cup...get a clue.

WHat is the worst that could happen? You get more people interested in soccer and then more people start watching MLS????

    Screw the mouse :)

WHen oh when will I be able to choose what i watch and not have it chosen for me by some huge multinational company (I have Time warner cable, which is better than most).

Barca-Juve is bored (low-life point). ManU-RM is best match of the century :)

point being that they are on separate days, so there is no reason, other than piss poor programming by the executives at The Mouse, that prevent us from watching both games.

I would rather watch a Boca/River derby rerun, because I bet I'd see more goals. The expectations will be so huge that it will be a bunch of side-ways passing for fear of making a crucial mistake. I *hope* I have to eat those words, but I doubt it very much.

That's one way to put it. Well in terms of soccer coverage of course.

From the listings, looks like they'll play both legs of ManUre vs. Real. I guess it's understandable. Two of the best teams ever I guess you're gonna want to show that. But it's just getting boring seeing every ManUre match on Fox Sports World, and now every ManUre match on ESPN, the only time they'll show European soccer. Eh, what can ya do?

Im happy you will make it!

Unless ESPN is so powerful is literally impossible you see both legs of ManU-madrid, and I just realize that re-reading Malaga's and Jay's posts:

the return leg is on tuesday people!!! YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO WATCH BARCA IN CAMP NOU!!!! I just realize that!!!

Re: Im happy you will make it!

Ok, I'm confused. Checking the ESPN listings, April 8th they will show Real vs. ManUre. Then the next match is on April 23rd, Wed. which is the second leg of Real vs. ManUre. I dunno, I keep checking but I don't see any Barça/Juve.

Ohhhh. Interesting. With our luck though, they'll just play the game Tuesday and not Wednesday. Well, here's hopin for some good news though.

By the way, you gonna get a chance to come over here and watch the ManUre tour in the summer?

Is anybody watching this? Did Bonano fail to hold the shot allowing the rebound? ARRRRGH. The only thing worse is that my office is next to a Juve supporter. There will be blood in the hallway today. ;)

Critical Away goal for us... a 0-0 tie puts us through to the next round!!!!

I have to be sick for the next game and find a bar here in NYC to watch this since ESPN has the Catfish nationals airing that day.

    THAT'S A BIG CATFISH!!

I saw highlights of the match on Contacto Deportivo tonight.

Bonano was not at fault on Montero's rebound goal, as the initial shot by Del Piero was from close range and impossible to hold onto.

We were fortunate on Saviola's goal, as it deflected off of a Juve defender, but according to match reports, Barça were regularly threatening in the 2nd half and deserving of the 1-1 score.
