JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK'S move to Barcelona is in danger of collapse after Chelsea demanded £20million for him.

The Blues hitman would jump at the chance of returning to Spain after two seasons at Stamford Bridge.

But Chelsea are refusing to do a cut-price deal for Hasselbaink, who cost £15m from Atletico Madrid, and have told Barca boss Louis van Gaal their terms.

Blues want the £7m they owe Barca for Boudewijn Zenden and Manu Petit scrubbed and they want the Spanish giants to cough up another £13m cash for Hasselbaink.

Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri rates Hasselbaink, 31, among the top five strikers in Europe, with a guaranteed return of 20 goals a season.

Chelsea are driving a hard bargain because they are understood to be having problems balancing the books after failing to make the Champions League this season.
