I watched the first half of this game at my uncles house. Being a Strongista, it was hard rooting for Bolivar but I wanted them to stick it to those bastards. The refereeing was terrible. I don't know what happened to El Gato, but he had an eye patch on before the game and did not play. Bolivar has this tall defenseman with real long hair. This guy sucked BAD. They played well in the midfield and up front but trailed 2-0 at the half. Anyone know the final score?
I hear you chico. I never root for Cholivar but last night was an exception. I was at home getting ready to play FIFA 2002 with Fox Sports Español got on the broadcast about how some Gimnasia hooligans assaulted the bus by throwing bricks the size of your head. Fernandez got caught in the eye by broken glass. The commentators had the decency to apologize and call his Argentine brothren "irresponsible and uneducated something that Argentines don't learn much about anymore and that they refuse to admit that it's possible for them to get beaten." The final score was Argentine cholos 2- Cholivar 0, but Bolivar goes on to the next round by aggragate goals. Chico, one moral victory that us Strongistas can take is that Sanchez and Colque had a great game and were once the core of el tigre!!

Not likely to happen...in Argentina there's no thing as accountability...they don't know what that means....Bolivar can't even sue Gimnasia, or la plata police for Gato's injury to the eye. At least here in the US, had this happened on the way to RFK to any team playing DC U, heads would be rolling...then again, we are a lot more civilized.
who was the ref....? el gato fernandez had a patched eye since the day's before attack of the bus, some argie fans hitting the bus with rocks and debri rubbish!
The ref was Gustavo Gallesio from Uruguay. Rubbish? Do you imply that all this was made up? I watched the game on FSW and it was delayed because of the incidents that happened. Even the Argentine commentators were apologizing before the match.
You've gotta be watching footage from the Tyson fight because Fernandez didn't have his eye patched on the way to the stadium...it was patched at the stadium.

Its a good thing Im not in BOlivia. I would attend the Bolivar match, but not with out paying a visit to the San Lorenzo bus first. If La Plata would have been fined or something by league officials, I would just chill and enjoy the match. What happend was horrible. The fact that nothing was done about it makes me sick to the stomach.
You mean civilized as to have a sniper out on the streets or having kids walking into school and shooting their classmates? Well, if that's being civilized then I much rather keep the rock-throwing scenes of our "savage" countries.

What are u talking about? Bolivians are some of the friendliest people in Latin america. U dont have to believe me, there was an article in the USA Today a few years ago stating how Bolivia is one of the safest countries in latin america to walk around in at night. Please remember that Bolivia is mostly indian. The Indians are known to do what ever possible to keep their culture and traditions alive. It was the Spaniards who came here that destroyed south america, ripping the indians from their land, pride and culture, all for the sake of riches. Your definantly calling the wrong people savages. Bolivia is one of few countries in the Americas that still keeps their values and traditions intact. Being poor just isnt as important as family morals in the heart of south america. If your talking about the rampage killings in the DC metro politan area, your a fool. You should have known by now that the dude wasnt even raised in the DC Metro area. Dude, you should read the whole thing before replying to a post! It's etcheverrito who is calling Argentinians (and all SouthAmerican, IMO) uncivilized -by claming that in the US they ARE civilized. I was just pointing out how "civilized" they are.
