Baptista Update

This is from Alvaro, the Seville resident from AWIMB.

1- Sevilla chairman said yesterday: "It's obvious that the player wants to go. He and his agents are forcing Sevilla to sell him, we don't want to sell any player but I've been 20 years in football and I've always saw that players who want to go, finally go. We have several offers from England, some are better some are worse, the only thing we expect is the player and his agents to fullfil their promise and look for the best deal for him and for us". About the passport, he said: "Don't know why they're saying that things, obviously they now nothing about our laws, for a player two years working here are enough to get the Spanish passport"

2- A few hours later, the new manager said to a radio station: "The president told me there are some players we are interested and one of them could be signed soon. He would replace Baptista if necessary, and we expect Luis Fabiano to score many goals. We can play without Baptista, and the way things are going, I'm not sure if the fans would like to see him on the pitch" then the reporter asked: "Well, that would be if he leaves the club" And the manager said: "It could be if he goes, or it could be even if he stays". Ten minutes later, Herminio Menéndez, one of the Baptista's agent called the radio station to say: "Well, we don't want a war against Sevilla, we are very grateful to them for giving the player the chance to play in Europe and we will find the best deal for all of us. There's no problem, we are serious people and gentlemen, everything can be solved talking". Curious.

As a conclusion, and in my opinion, Sevilla are resigned to lose the player, but not for any amount of money and not for any team. The manager words are quite clear: we are going to sell you, but until then, shut up you ************ing mouth or you could spend a year seeing the matches from the terraces. In this way, let's see who is going to sign you next season and of course, forget to play the World Cup.
The quick answer from Menéndez means that they've understood the message. Hope to see that bastard leaving the team as soon as possible. ************ him.

P.S.: If someone wants to learn some Spanish insults, just take a look at Sevilla site forum. Talking about Baptista, "mother************er" is the nicest word you can find.

If he don't want play for us we don't want him, his hearts got to be in the club, after all we don't want to end up like Chelsea " I really want to play in England..for Chelsea" = "fcuk me look what they're paying"

Is there any substantive difference between a Spanish passport and an EU passport? I thought the prior discussion involved an EU passport.

Right now I believe Baptista only has a Brazilian Passport, and if he stays in Spain working for another years he can get a Spanish/EU Passport. He can't get the Spanish Passport unless he works in the country for another year.

Hard to blame him, that Spainish Passport, and the dual citizenship that comes with it, would be an important after his playing days are over. That and the fact that we would not count against the 3 player limit on non EU players in Spain, which would effectively kill his chances of ever going to Madrid or Barca.

yes and new signing Asier Del Horno back thats up by what he said a few weeks ago lol.....ill try to find a link or something but the jist of it was that he was glad to be joining chelsea and said he also cudnt belive how much they were willing to pay him and cudnt turn it down

They are (I think). I've been looking at getting Irish citizenship; it costs a certain ammount of money for the Irish passport which comes with an automatic and cumpulsory eu passport for much more money.

Sevilla threatened to report the Gunners to Fifa after Arsene Wenger had spoken to the player without the Spanish club's permission.

Did Sevilla follow through on this and report Arsenal for tapping up the player or did your man at the FA intercede on your behalf?
