One has come out and said he would like a move to us or Arsenal... the other is a United fan, neither are the Keane replacement but both can play a mean midfield game.

Of the 2, which one would you like to see at OT

They're both going to cost over 20M, so good luck. Sevilla has put an insane buyout clause on Baptista's contract.

I ddoubt Baptista will go for anymore than 15m unless Chelsea involve themselves.

The player wants to leave and with player power these days...

Has Fergie actually stated an interest in Baptista?

I voted Essien... I honestly think he's more likely to play DM for us and actually replace Keane eventually... Baptista would be Rooney just a bit deeper... both are phenomenal players... one of them however has played CB in the past, is strong in the air and mirrors Keane in this way. That's Essien.

That said, I'd be thrilled to have either of them.

Why are buyout clauses always discussed when it comes to Spanish players? If a player and his team don't agree on him leaving, obviously the buyout clause would compel his team to sell. But if he wants to move on to bigger and better things, it makes sense to expect a lower transfer fee, unless there is a bidding war.

Umm buyout clauses mean nothing. If the player states his desire to leave then they can come to a fee of respectibility in a short amount of time.

It's Essien by a mile. I don't want anything to do with Baptista even if he costs less than 10 mln. At this point MU should do whatever it takes to get Essien - he'll be a great long term replacement to Keane and Scholes.

What was Del Horno's buyout clause? A matter of fact who the **ck actually pays buyout clauses? Their sole purpose is to deter clubs with their crazy numbers, no one is stupid enough to pay them if they are high. That's why there are people called ne-go-tia-tors..

On topic, how about both? :D

However, with both Arsenal and Manchester United rumoured to be tracking his progress, Baptista's agent Juan Figer revealed that whilst negotiations with Spain's big two are yet to get off the ground he has already been mulling over a move abroad.

We badly need a D/M cum An attacking one for that matter. Scholes tailed off last season. Last season goalkeeping/defending was second only to Chelski, however our penultimate moves in to the penulty box for Rooney/Van the man was so pedestrian. We just couldn't score. Remember 98/99 and 99/00 scoring? Giggs, Beckam, Scholes and keane supplied the ammunition for Yorke, Cole, Sheringham and Solskjer. We need a good midfield, otherwise we will be at the same position next year at this time.

Giggs, Scholes & Keane are past their prime. Essien or Baptista or whoever, Help Wanted badly.

No, but played as DM for Sao Paolo and for his first call-ups for Selecao. He was viewed as one of the future bright prospects for that defensive midfield spot.

His transformation to a goalscoring AM/Withdrawn striker has come as a surprise to almost everyone.

Teams who want to buy good players that their club wants to keep.

Florentino Perez and his 2 European Cups think you're funny.

I voted for Baptista because it seems more plausible right now. A couple years down the road and a midfield featuring Ronaldo, Baptista, Fletcher and Park looks pretty good.

I don't recall seeing "Baptista in come and get me plea" to ManUtd in the papers recently.

Sorry, you don't get to do that. If you have a link to show that Baptista wants out of Seville, I'll be glad to read it.
From all stories I've seen, Sevilla have said they are not interested in selling.

Hey, if you can buy a player that can be in two places at once on the pitch, I'd do it, even if it was Phil Neville.

The link is in the transfer thread. It doesn't really matter what Sevilla want. The player has all the power.

This is a vision of football 2050 when cloned players are allowed to play.. I wonder if they'll have the same kit number..

Djemba-Djemba was a failed android from the future.. beware Keane-Keane!
