I know all the supporters groups bring banners and stuff, but what if say someone's club team wanted to bring a banner like they do in South America? Can they just throw it over the railing?

If that is the case, we should make a couple more banners just for the hell of it.. Would look real good on TV.

LaNorte has more than one banner, the Lanorte loves usa one and the Lanorte=northside one. A few more banners wouldnt be too bad. I just wish (note "I wish") we could throw banners from the top deck down to the front railings... (remember I said "I wish")

Oh well, we gotta remember to bring all our banners and flags (that includes big ass flags) to richmond.

With the new seating arrangement, there shouldn't be any exposed railing. Dress the stadium up. BTW, now that Jaime is a MetroDonkey, I still don't consider him scum, or Eddie and Ritchie too for that matter.

if every person in every supporters group made some kind of banner and hung it it would look sick on TV, there probably wouldn't even be enough room

I would imagine that if its something too crude, it would be taken down. However, it would really look great on TV if you couldn't see the railing because of the banners.

I've never had problems actually hanging my banners. It's important to arrive reasonably early. The security signs out front say you can't bring them in. Occasonally security people would go through them with a puzzled look and then just let me pass.

this year the carts can take them in for us. If the CSC meeting holds strong until the season then the guys will come around with carts before the match.

at least get the groups to make a few more, but mainly keep them on the television side until we have more.

I'd like to see a banner for every piece of hardware we've won. Put the name of the competition on top, the year and word "Champion" in the middle, and "DC United" on the bottom. We'd have so many of those banners it would literally clutter up the unused space on the supporters side of the stadium. Then, whenever they'd televise a game from RFK, they'd see the bouncy stands of the Screaming Eagles and the Barra Brava, but all of these "trophy banners." It would look very impressive, and a bit intimidating to the other teams. ;)

At the World Cup I loved all of the banners, particularly the impressive showings of the England and Poland fans who seemed to completely kick azz with their impressive banners.

Any fans who wish to bring banners into the stadium is welcome to do so with La Norte. Of course, you can't hide anything in the banners and you must reclaim them, or we get to keep them :)

    OK,

I'll offer up my house for a banner making event. I live in Falls Church if anyone is interested. We have almost 3 weeks until opening day. I'd be happy to provide some refreshments to those who want to attend.

Anyone want to suggest a date to do this?

Living in richmond, that would be outta my reach, but thats a great idea jason. I can make one down here though, prob. in time for the richmond match. If anyone makes one before april 5th, just bring it down and throw it over down here also. What do you use to make them?

Ghetto Style => Go to Kmart and buy a King Size white sheet(or two if you want to sew 'em together to make a big mofo'), buy some spray paint or acrylic/fabric paint(make sure it can be used outside too) and do whatever you want with it.

Expensive Style => Go to a fabric store, get some cheep nylon/cotton type fabric, make sure it's no more than 6 feet high. If you wanna mix colors (i.e.:red, white, and black) then just take the measurements of each color block you want and take it to them. Then outline your letters and color them in with the fabric paint.

P.S. - Make sure you put something under the fabric when you're paintin it so it doesn't get all over whatever's underneath of the cloth.

Cool, went to the thrift store and got 2, 4x7 (twin bed sheets). I will either make two different banners or sew them together and make one long one.
    they were 2.99 each.

then went and got red and black spray paint.

I say y'all just do what Philly sports fans do and make banners that say something different each game (like the famed "Sign Guy" does at every Eagles' game) or make player fan club signs with outrageous names...just ask Convey about it, he's from Philly. How about "Convey's Convoy" or "Hristo's Hard-foulers" or "Marco's Polos." (That last one is stupid). Anyway....just some thoughts.

yeah, but I would prefer it in english, because alot of our stuff is in spanish, and although alot of supporters club members speak spanish very well, alot of the people who just come to matches dont...

What part of falls church do you live in, I live right next to Falls CHurch city and am considered Fairfax county with a Falls church Address. If you want to make a banner you can go to the fabric store on 7 corners Its called Michaels. Just get RED, BLACK , or White fabric have, The way they are sold makes it easier to make banners. I made the one that says LA NORTE LOVES USA. All you do is cut the fabric in half and conect it together by sewing it. You can make a 3 layer flag or a 2 layer flag. The LA NORTE flag is a 3 layer flag RED-WHITE-RED with Blue letters. You can add the paint by sketching the letters with a pencil or i used color chalk. Then when you have it just right, all you have to do is fill in the paint. If you have any questions let me know, since i live in your area I wouldnt mind helping.

You cn rach me at one of these emails
    Lchavez@hewfcu.com
    dc_united10@hotmail.com

P.S. I also made a DC UNITED Banner a while back,
It also was a 3 layer banner BLACK-RED-BLACK.

The sign guy is different is different than the douche bags in the upper deck during Phillies games. The only reason those groups started was because there was no one cheering. The guys in the Wolf Pack were at least original, but Padilla's Flotilla, etc are just copy cats trying to get on TV, not die hard fans. I think player specific fan clubs are silly.
