there isn't a scum lower on the Earth, I hope he dies slowly. 2nd leg injury. I haven't heard an injury report yet but it doesn't look good. Die Dema, die!

Two footed, in the air when he made contact. Looks like Hristo is rubbing off.

it was a bad tackle but he was trying to play the ball...

soccer is a physical sport, crap like this happens...injuries are unfortunate and especially ones which looked as bad as ronnie's, but as they say "$hit happens" dema is a phsyical player, like a lot of players in mls.

i wish ronnie a speedy recovery...

This kind of thuggishness needs to stop. There's no reason to go with two feet in the air at someone when they've clearly got you beaten. It wasn't intentional, but c'mon. He didn't even get a yellow card AFAIK.

There is a difference between being a physical player and a dirty player. Ryan Suarez is a physical player. Mike Petke is a physical player. Dema is a dirty ************ing hack. This isnt the first time he's done it, and I can guaruntee it wont be the last.

I've rewatched the replay several times. Since no foul was called - its impossible to issue a card. But it did look rash and reckless. The referee was terrible and let the game get away from him way before that.

On ROB's injury it looked like he had just gotten away with a pretty obvious handball and then may have pushed Dema in the back. At this time Dema came steaming back, left both feet and lunged in front of O'Brien's shot / cross attempt.

Dema was not yet clearly beaten when he left his feet. It could have been a legitimate attempt to block it but, given Dema's history, it would leave a doubt in anyone's mind.

I hope O'Brien's injury isn't as bad as it looked but it's hard to believe he didn't break a bone.

Studs first and no yellow? Looks like the two yellows the Burn got should be taken back. Maybe I should call MJ and ask him if I can sign as an emergency player and take out the thug with a nasty rugby tackle. That will make him think twice before trying tot ake someone out. :)

It was not a two-footed tackle, unless you have some new definition of two-footed.

anyone that knows anything about how to throw most of their momentum into a tackle aimed to take someone's legs out - knows that it isn't hard to do.

soccer provides easy ways to do damage to players legs. and there are only a few MLS players who would even attempt something like this.

dema kovalenko is by far the worst of these. it goes way beyond being an 'aggressive' player or a hack. as i've mentioned in another thread before this game, he should not be allowed to play in MLS...

or anywhere else in the world.

yea, i watched the damn game...

listen, it is unfortunate but calling for someone to no be able to play in mls b/c they are a phsyical player, more so than any other? come on, seriously guys...i think we all feel bad for what happened but lets think a little more realistically. every sporting league has dirty players no one likes, get used to it...

I don't think the ref had the angle to call the foul, that said, the linesman should have made the call.

Of course the referee instructions could have ruled this out, but it was definitely a foul, and I'd have a hard time not asking the ref to issue a caution if I was the lineman/asst Ref.

Some stated he was going for the block, I don't think so, I think he was trying to knock him off balance to keep the cross from being dangerous.

I don't remember who he broke last time, but you gotta believe there is going to be a bounty on him.

Damn skippy. When he comes to Dallas, he is not going to hear the end of it. I'll make sure the South Library has some vocals.

the filty bag of scum, broke Brandon pollard's leg 2 yrs ago - here at the cotton Bowl

when he wanted to fit with the tugs (then) of the chicago fire.

one nasty player, and is not a freak accident, the guy last time dc U was on fox had a share of 3 or 4 players (skin was on his finger nails and shoes!)

he is a criminal behind a Uniform, I had the nasty pleasure to see Him at the bolitiere academy in preseason vs. the Mutiny and most players will walk out talking crap about his dangerous antics.

If you have the last game on fox- take a close look of that rat.

Fidel- You don't know what you are talking about....that was about as bad a tackle as they come...

This whole "but I was going for the ball" is a crock...you can't go full speed into someone...with a 20/80 of getting the ball, and then if you miss and break a guy's leg, claim "but I was going for the ball"...

And that's being kind.....I think if we view a better angle, we will see that Dema's 2nd leg and momentum were so bad, that the odds of getting ball were even lower....he left his feet, he dove into the guy..

    It was disgraceful....very Stoitchkov...

Amen. That was not a malicious tackle. It was a very hard tackle, but he was playing the ball. It wasn't even a head on tackle or a tackle from behind. He came in from the side. Very unfortunate, but I don't think it was malicious.

Err... got me kinda stumped here. I know an ex-president who used to have trouble with definitions. I guess Cantona's feet never left the ground either huh?

What utter bullshit. Watch the replay when you aren't pissed off. Maybe then you'll see it was an accident.

charge the pitch and step on his face with golf shoes on.

I seriously hope a player gets him back for the 2nd serious injury he's caused our team. Ship that little $hit back to Ukraine, or better yet North Korea.

So are you saying going in studs first isn't reckless? That alone should have warranted a yellow and maybe a red.

If I am not mistaken, Pollard's injury pretty much ended his career? right?

I recall the huge ovation he got when he came back on wheel chair and a long cast, to a game..... soon after recovery he announced retirement. Sister is a star at SMU.....soccer player too, local player blasted by that rat from Ukrania

Yes I often jump at someone feet first when someone has me beat and you wouldn't believe how often accidents occur. Honestly I just can't figure it out.
