I just heard that the blast signed Tony Donatelli forward from the Charlston Battery I am dieing to know why we keep signing forwards when we need DEFENDERS .

BTW: Baltimore has not resigned Nicki Paterson he was the USL's leading goal scorer & won Player of the Year makes no sense to me at all what Danny Kelly and Keving Healy are thinking

Paterson was second in goals and third in points. Can they sign him if he's still playing? Charleston has a playoff game this coming weekend. I don't think they announced the player of the year yet.

I did not know he fell behind in the points , but he thanked everyone on his facebook page also he can be signed because he played for the blast last year all it is is him renewing the contract

Nicki was indeed the Battery player of the year and would have been tied on goals for year if he had converted the PK last weekend. I know he really wanted that honor.

Donotelli is still playing for the Battery too so I don't see why the Blast couldn't make Nicki an offer.

I do know that Nicki is looking to stay with the Battery year around but not sure if he has worked that out.

The last time I spoke with Nicki was last week and he wanted to come back to baltimore so who knows Baltimore could be waiting to see who they sign as a keeper before building a team .

Man I wish Baltimore would stop "loosing" all this talent;)

Be great to see Baltimore jump ship to the pasl. I'd pay to see them play Dallas, SD, "Rockford" and Harrisburg

You know everyone wants to hunt the big dog. Would be some cool rivalries

Baltimore picked up a lot of new players this year when I talked to Danny Kelly at the Sagu farewell he told me the teams #1 priority what to sign a goal keeper . DEROUX, HEALY, MILLWOOD, NOON , FERDINAD , will all be back I expect the Blast will re-sign Neto , Lookingland , Lucio Gonzaga ,
I am still hearing Baltimore wants Danny Waltman to replace sagu , & they also would like to get Akira Fitzgerald back this was the buzz all around the sagu farewell event

I didn't expect David or Ricky to come back. For one ricardinho lives in Dallas with his family. Shaun David I believe is from there as well, and I believe he started his career in Dallas too. Plus David has been one of those float around players so he most likely wanted to go to a team where he would stay for a while. If they do fold, atleast he is home

Added to the list of DeRoux, Healey, Millwood, Noone, Ferdinand, Neto, Lookingland and Gonzaga would most likely be Dos Santos, Myers, Deasel and Buete. Still that would be replacing a third of the roster a year after replacing over half of the roster. Very difficult to battle more stable teams with the roster churning like that. It will take another great coaching job by Danny Kelly for the team to return to the finals this year.

I'm gonna say the Blast come in 3rd place this year. Milwaukee 1st and either Missouri or Wichita in 2nd.

I think a lot will depend on the format the league uses this year. If they keep the divisional format, the Blast can probably get back to the finals as they will only have to be better than the Silver Knights and the Lancers. Even with the truncated core the Blast is returning, I still think they are better than both of those teams. If the league goes to a simple seven team format, it may be more difficult.

We are going to a 7 team format so its going to be tuff now if the blast can sign danny waltman
i would say we will be ok for sure this would make a lot of sense since he lives in Virgina beach VA he is only 4 hrs from home

I agree that the Blast will make it in the playoff race. I just think they will more likely than not end up blowing it like they have in the past few years.

First, they have lost a lot of their veteran offensive players within these past few seasons. Now they lose arguably the best MISL keeper of the decade. And they're a team that's always been offensively minded so this is an extremely huge loss for them.

But what do I know? Milwaukee placed 3rd out of 4 teams (went 10-10) four seasons ago. After that, they competed in three consecutive championships. Maybe this is a wakeup call for the Blast much like that was for the Wave.

Baltimore needs to wake up with no real defense last year the relyed on sagu way to much and it bit them in the ass . getting blown out 14-4 in a championship game at home is uncalled for Danny should have fired the guys up like he did in game 2 . I could care less that we lost its how we lossed that ticks me off .

Our first 2 games we loss to expansion teams this right away should of drew a red ****** and said we needed a stronger defense and i hope thats is what they do Lets assume we do get waltman like i am being told he can not do it all ..

I can't agree more - Waltman would be the perfect match for Baltimore.
Even B-more fans cheered for him when he ran out on the field last year...
But isn't he in a multi-year contract with Comets or do they need to resign him?

He signed a 2 year deal and as of 8/31/2012 it has expired so now its going to come down to money i am sure the comets have first rights to match any offer on the table . I dont think they can match Baltimore's offer since sagu was the higest paid player in the misl

If that were a consideration, Danny would be playing for the Tacoma Stars. After all, Adauto Neto is from Brazil and Machel Millwood is from Jamaica-just sayin.

True but he has been living up until recently in the midwest and going back home to Washington
and there could be some truth to this

Danny Waltman has wanted to play for Baltimore for the past 3 years.

I've heard him say a few times to other Baltimore players "hey when is Sagu gonna retire"

Love to have him in Baltimore. Class act and the fans (kids) would love his style (and flip off the glass)

    Can he still do that?
