This guy has some good compilations of Italian youths, such as Giovinco, Cigarini, Marchisio, Criscito and Montolivo.

    Re: Balotelli/Giovinco/youngster thread

yesterday inter advanced to the semifinals in the torneo di viareggio thanks to Balotelli again.

just look at how he scored and understand why it is hard to avoid the hype around this boy.

    he seems to have everything.

p.s. in the same game, another Inter youngster, Destro (16), who I think is part of the U17 NT scored a very nice goal showing good skills for the final 2-0 vs cesena.

p.p.s. if you get to watch raisat sport they are covering the tournament. the semifinals will take place tomorrow. It's a bit of a marathon tournament... the teams reaching the final will play 7 games in 2 weeks.

here they are the 2 goals vs cesena in a little zip file (source: internazionale.fr)

nice goal by destro... good control while speeding and coolness in front of the goalkeeper.
this is another youngster to look at.

grazie sardus pater, always appreciated. :)

nice goals, that balotelli really could be a phenomenon in 4-5 years if he stays healthy, works hard, and stays grounded.

I agree he could be very good but I hear his attitude stinks. Still a little immature. Is that true?? Last thing Italy needs is another great talent blowing it because of his attitude. (cassano)

    Re: Balotelli/Giovinco/youngster thread

apparently his temperament is ibrahimovic v. 2.0
same bragging, same huge ego, but more on a nice way.

well, lippi said that he reminds him of ibrahimovic the way he plays...

he's 17 and he's italian, so you can't really expect anything else than being immature. With italian mammas around 17 y.o boys ARE little kids.

of course risks of wasting his talent are there. his temperament is a bit of a double edged sword. it can lead him to underachievement or it can lead him to great success.

vs Juve his huge ego brought him coldness in front of the goal and zero feeling of reverence towards the seniors.

btw the way to try and contain his ego is by playing him with the senior squad. that's where he can learn. In the primavera championship he has little competition so no surprise he thinks he is a football god.

Lorenzo De Silvestri will be a star.

Lazio will have a tough time holding on to him in the future.

Milan's Alberto Paloschi (b. 1990) just scored on his Serie A debut, with his first touch no less. I think that makes it three goals in three games (two in the Coppa).

Strange how it seems like we have all the assets to play great on offense, but what about defense? Will the era of great Italian defense come to end? If so, hopefully it will be due to more goals being scored by our offense to balance this anomaly!

If I were Milan I'd get rid of ronaldo, and promote him to the side,

But most likely Milan will loan him out 100% sure.

Balotelli will be loaned out next season as well.

With guys like Chiellini, Criscito, De Ceglie, and De Silvestri around I wouldn't worry too much about the future of our backline.

I don't know about paloschi but moratti said they are not going to loan out balotelli. He said that they already refused lots of requests from serie a teams this january.

generally speaking I have nothing against loaning out the young talents. even if it is serie b. that's the place where players harden.

I think it's good for a player like Balotelli to stay at Inter and not be loaned out. Training every day with players like Ibrahimovic, Crespo, Cruz, and Suazo can only help his development. Like when Zola was at Napoli and he learned from Maradona.

Paloschi can possibly be loaned out. I think he has great finishing ability but he still needs to toughen up a bit. Like you said a loan to Serie B is never a bad thing, however they have to be placed at a club that will play them consistently and let them grow. Look at Cerci at Pisa. He starts every game and is doing very well. On the other hand Milan loaned Davide Di Gennaro to Bologna who are promotion contenders and rely on experienced veterans to get promoted, they don't want to give time to young players, and so Di Gennaro sits on the bench most of the time and it hurts his development.

yeah, loaning paloschi out would be the right idea i believe. he needs to work on a lot of things and get regular playing time.

I know we may have said this numerous times before in the past, but I think that this current crop of Italian youngsters looks more promising than ever! We have 18 year old kids like Paloschi and Balotelli already making a name for themselves with the two Milan giants, which is something that is practically unheard of in regards to Italian youngsters! Then we have Giuseppe Rossi who's lighting it up in Spain, and Sebastian Giovinco who over the past year has rapidly emerged as one of the most sought after U-21's in Europe at the moment!

The future looks bright indeed :D
