Balogun draws a yellow getting pulled down trying to start a break. Getting treatment after the foul

Edit: There's a chance he was strategically trying to earn them a break - with the yellow, he wasn't going to be forced off the pitch. Team got water and a coaching update.

 

Monaco in a 5-3-1 for the closing minutes with Balogun up top. They look exhausted. Orleans pushed up ridiculously far - a long clearance over the top for Balogun to outrun third division defenders is very much available, but they're not trying it.

 

Balogun down again; limping, but didn't want the trainers.

 

Balogun gets it up the right wing and hits a nice cross, but should have known no one would be there. And now he's taking himself out, Ilenikhena coming on. Just kick the ball upfield to that dude - fresh, the defense can't handle him.

 

I am prophet. Ilenikenha receives at midfield, no one catches him, nice finish past the keeper, 2-0. Hopefully Balogun's limp is a minor issue, probably is.

 

Balogun with the start against somewhat easier opposition at Le Havre, but Monaco still having a hard time. Folarin had the only shot on target of the first half, where he created space being tracked by four defenders but then hit a shot that probably needed more pace and better placement to work. He had another chance but someone else was offside - didn't finish the one that didn't count, either.

 

Nice curling shot by Balogun tipped over the bar.

Next play, some holding in the box and Balogun gets a yellow for dissent. Still 0-0.

 

Injury woes mounting for Monaco - both Faes and Dier have come off injured.

 

Full time and Monaco break their losing streak! With a tie against a bad team. Balogun with their only two shots on target. Another very frustrating match.
