I'll leave 2023 to you @IceBlood34 as you've been tallying the votes for that year in what was a 'current poll' at one point of course, but here's the final update from me for 2020-2022 factoring in the votes from anamnesis's friend off Twitter which he had posted directly on the thread: 2020 Ballon d'Or Revisited panel consensus 1 Robert Lewandowski (Poland/Bayern Munich) - 310 2 Lionel Messi (Argentina/Barcelona) - 130 3 Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium/Manchester City) - 110 4 Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/Juventus) - 66 5 Kylian Mbappe (France/Paris St Germain) - 43 6 Joshua Kimmich (Germany/Bayern Munich) - 36 7 Neymar (Brazil/Paris St Germain) - 32.5 8 Manuel Neuer (Germany/Bayern Munich) - 32 9 Sadio Mane (Senegal/Liverpool) - 19.5 10 Serge Gnabry (Germany/Bayern Munich) - 20 11 Thomas Muller (Germany/Bayern Munich) - 13 12 Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool) - 5 13 Karim Benzema (France/Real Madrid), Angel Di Maria (Argentina/Paris St Germain) - 3 15 Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands/Liverpool) - 2.5 16 Trent Alexander-Arnold (England/Liverpool), Son Heung-min (South Korea/Tottenham Hotspur) - 2 18 Memphis Depay (Netherlands/Lyon), Harry Kane (England/Tottenham Hotspur), Jan Oblak (Slovenia/Atletico Madrid), Thiago Alcantara (Spain/Bayern Munich/Liverpool) - 1 22 N'Golo Kante (France/Chelsea) - 0.5 2021 Ballon d'Or Revisited panel consensus 1 Lionel Messi (Argentina/Barcelona/Paris St Germain) - 252 2 Robert Lewandowski (Poland/Bayern Munich) - 240 3 N'Golo Kante (France/Chelsea) - 77 4 Karim Benzema (France/Real Madrid) - 75 5 Kylian Mbappe (France/Paris St Germain) - 38 6 Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium/Manchester City) - 34 7 Jorginho (Italy/Chelsea) - 33 8 Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool) - 23 9 Erling Haaland (Norway/Borussia Dortmund) - 19 10 Cristiano Ronaldo (Poland/Juventus/Manchester United) - 16 11 Harry Kane (England/Tottenham Hotspur) - 10 12 Luis Suarez (Uruguay/Atletico Madrid) - 5 13 Bruno Fernandes (Portugal/Manchester United) - 4 14 Nicolo Barella (Italy/Inter Milan), Joshua Kimmich (Germany/Bayern Munich), Neymar (Brazil/Paris St Germain), Marco Verratti (Italy/Paris St Germain) - 2 18 Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy/AC Milan/Paris St Germain), Ilkay Gundogan (Germany/Manchester City), Thiago Silva (Brazil/Chelsea) - 1 2022 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer/Reddit panel consensus 1 Karim Benzema (France/Real Madrid) - 237 2 Kylian Mbappe (France/Paris St Germain) - 126 3 Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium/Manchester City) - 58.5 4 Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool) - 58 5 Robert Lewandowski (Poland/Bayern Munich/Barcelona) - 53 6 Lionel Messi (Argentina/Paris St Germain) - 48 7 Sadio Mane (Senegal/Liverpool/Bayern Munich) - 41 8 Thibaut Courtois (Belgium/Real Madrid) - 33 9 Luka Modric (Croatia/Real Madrid) - 19 10 Vinicius Jr (Brazil/Real Madrid) - 13 11 Erling Haaland (Norway/Borussia Dortmund/Manchester City) - 5.5 12 Enzo Fernandez (Argentina/River Plate/Benfica) - 4 13 Emiliano Martinez (Argentina/Aston Villa) - 3 14 Trent Alexander-Arnold (England/Liverpool), Angel Di Maria (Argentina/Paris St Germain/Juventus), Christopher Nkunku (France/RB Leipzig), Son Heung-min (South Korea/Tottenham Hotspur) - 2 18 Julian Alvarez (Argentina/River Plate/Manchester City), Bernardo Silva (Portugal/Manchester City), Federico Valverde (Uruguay/Real Madrid) - 1
Mate, I'm soooo sorry I totally forgot to tell you that this votes are a summary of several voters Right @anamnesis del fútbol ? So @PDG1978 please don't use it! I'm receiving now the different voters from @anamnesis del fútbol and I will do it the tally myself. Could you delete all your summary? I'm so sorry...
I think it might be easier for you to leave out the one I already incorporated maybe mate (the one anamnesis posted on the thread), if possible, and then you have all the updates I did verified and ready to use to add on the points for the other ones (including the correction on Valentino Mazzola's points)? Maybe it's possible to share with us all these new votes too (I'm not sure)?
I don't have capability to delete posts mate anyway to be honest, but I honestly think it's best not to anyway, if anamnesis can confirm to you which vote to leave out (the one he originally posted on the thread saying his friend voted and he thinks it should be included).
One other thing I had thought about @IceBlood34 is maybe that we were I think encouraging people to vote for 5 players per year if they were voting in real time weren't we, if I remember correctly? Obviously like I mentioned there were those older votes from old threads you found and wanted to incorporate and maybe it was my decision (with your approval or invitation to decide) to allocate full points to the top 3s still for those, but I think we were generally asking for people to name 5 players where possible and where we could interact with them? Although I may be forgetting some more recent votes that did only have 3 players per year and we still used the same way (it's easy to lose track after a bit of a break from this thread, like you think too I guess). Anyway, potentially it could be worth asking for 5 players per year (I'm not trying to insist upon it though; it just crossed my mind)?
Maybe (again at second glance - sorry I didn't fully digest what you meant before IceBlood I think) I understood this post wrong though? Friend's votes is singular (one friend) or multiple (friends)? 'Are' means all the votes of one guy, or a consensus between multiple voters? I'm not sure now but i thought this was just from one voter. Maybe IceBlood thought otherwise (maybe he even knows otherwise). Not to totally rule out using the list as one vote, albeit a consensus one, if that's what it is, I guess, even (especially if individual voters only made 3 choices per year). I'm a bit confused about it as you can tell anyway to be honest (but atm I've added this set of votes as one vote indeed, and I was assuming other Twitter posts were separate...but maybe that's wrong)!
Sorry if I wasn't clear, in fact @anamnesis del fútbol had already compiled the votes of the 4 voters into a single vote, without number of points or anything. He just sent me the votes of the different voters. I'll take care of it today and post it here. Once the number of points per year and player is done, it'll be easier for you to add directly to the consensus. So please, don't take into account your tally that you just made recently because they are not correct.
I think I'm understanding now that this is a set of 4 lots of votes (and as IceBlood just confirmed and seems certain about that the original post was an amalgamation of them all - I guess at that point anamnesis had thought about submitting their consensus but then it has been changed to submitting each vote individually then....). I was able to open the spreadsheet that goes to the list of 'Velvet d'Or' votes from one person (the 3rd one referenced above) - I had misunderstood at first and thought that that might have come from @velnho on Twitter/X but I think I understand it is from a different person now. The top link I couldn't open (maybe it is a private message sent to anamnesis? - anyway I guess you have the access or confirmation sent to you of what the votes were IceBlood for that one too). I could find the Zizouretro timeline but again probably was expecting that the top link related to the Zizouretro vote at first, so I didn't scroll around enough to find his Ballon d'Or votes I guess.
Ok, I was going to check one more time with anamnesis that the original post specifically wasn't one set of votes but a combination of four of them, but IceBlood you are certain about it I think. I should remove the set of votes I added then, and will do that soon for you (but making sure to show the correct points as well as position for the Valentino Mazzola entry I had identified with an error in the points shown after the post-Gutigut's adjustments update). Then you can provide me with the 4 sets of votes to add, or add them yourself if you liked, I guess....
I did try @ velnho (on Twitter/X, without a space but I put one here because we tag people on Big Soccer by using @ of course) and got a message that that account didn't exist though by the way (but again I guess anamnesis sent you the votes directly IceBlood).
Ah, ok, I just logged into my emails now @IceBlood34 and saw the message you sent me with confirmation of 3 sets of votes (two from friends of anamnesis and also the one @Bin1250 had provided for you). You have said you are clarifying with anamnesis about the final set of votes, and confirmed that of course the Velvet d'Or spreadsheet I mentioned I could see has another one of them. I thought about copying and pasting into spoiler tags onto this thread, but it seems like there is too much data to do it or something or some data gets missed off when transferring between the document I viewed from your email and Big Soccer, but anyway I see them all. I can handle adding those votes if you like (after removing the consensus first), and then you can let me know about the final set too when anamnesis has been able to confirm and show it to you? You are ok with continuing to allow full points for votes with 3 names I guess (the same as we did for the voters from older Big Soccer threads where necessary) - probably that is fair and simple as we had probably given anamnesis the impression anyway that it was at least acceptable to submit 3 names per year (I see he did tell them that 5 was more ideal anyway). One thing I had already spotted: on the 'Velvet d'Or' set of votes Bergkamp has been allocated both 4th and 5th place for 1997. So we could get clarification on a new choice for 5th place potentially (or just not add the point for 5th place).... Edit: Nice work anyway IceBlood with making the document with the votes breakdown on, and thanks for sending me it.
By the way @IceBlood34 though what are we deciding about the new adjustments of @Titanlux ? To factor in what he has posted since we had previously closed off the voting (and included his adjustments up to the end of the 90s)? To wait for him to finish the 00s before you make your templates etc? To not make any other adjustments to his votes and just leave it as fully-adjusted up to the end of 1990s (with his original, provisional, votes for all of 00s and beyond)?
I will check in more detail @IceBlood34 but it looks possible at first glance that the votes of 'User 2' as per what you sent via email are the same list as what @anamnesis del fútbol first posted on the thread (meaning that that wasn't a combination of all 4 together and he just means 4 new contributors that he interacted with voted overall including that one?). If so I wouldn't need to remove that set of votes obviously, but I will do a full check again later. You and anamnesis are sure that the 'User 2' set of votes are indeed from one person I guess anyway?
Yes, this set of votes is 100% the same as the set of votes of 'User 2' on the page you sent me by email @IceBlood34 So I already added that set in (and seemingly don't need to remove those points then, but just add in 3 more sets of votes eventually too I think).
Please feel free to finish the project at your convenience. At the moment I'm working on the 2000-01 season, of which I'll have the list out in 7 or 10 days, I reckon. I will post it, in any case, in the thread I opened not long ago. I don't want to hinder your objectives because of my slowness in publishing the lists. I want to take my time because I want to consult as many sources as possible to make these rankings as fair as I can.
I received the confirmation of the votes of the other friend of anamnesis from Twitter @IceBlood34 - thanks (I'll be fine to add the points for the remaining 3 sets of votes including this one). That voter does seem to have 2 years with only 2 players chosen though I see doesn't he? 1985: Platini - Maradona - Idk ('I don't know', I guess it means) 1997: Ronaldo - Romario - Idk
I found his Twitter-post by the way actually: Mr.Idolo on X: "My top 3 in Ballon d'or since 1946 to 2023. I could forget someone & sometimes it was close between some names https://t.co/OKuOaNzKAf" / X
