I have elegos' book in which he rates the top 3 in every season, but not top 5. Peterhrt votes can be found in either the 1910s best footballers thread or best footballers 1956-2009 thread I think, although again, they are only top 3's.

Yeah, I incorporated Peter's votes using that 1950-2009 thread already, but knew they would both be featuring in our panel significantly for years before 1950 too (as IceBlood himself said too in our private messages).

If you wanted to send me a PM yourself with info about the lists in elegos7's book feel free of course (it's possible it'll be a bit more concise and/or decisive than whatever is posted on the seasonal threads, and it would be quicker for me to use a list for all seasons he's covered I suppose too, if I would be counting a separate vote from Peterhrt each time too anyway rather than merging them....or maybe it is even their joint decisions reflected in the book I guess....?).

Obviously I'm sure Peterhrt and elegos would be both welcome to update and extend their selections for the purposes of our thread. Likewise I know that @Perú FC is still welcome to confirm his final choices for all years and have his votes incorporated too.

I did already spot @peterhrt's 1940s choices I realise now (with the 1950s ones - I'd temporarily forgotten he went earlier than 1950 on the 1950-2009 thread as well), so I can add in votes for him too, to result in this:

1940 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer panel consensus
    1
    Leonidas (Brazil/Flamengo) - 52
    2 Josef Bican (Czechoslovakia*/Slavia Prague) - 40

    8 Iuliu Baratky (Romania/Rapid Bucharest), Gyorgy Sarosi (Hungary/Ferencvaros) - 3
    10 Atilio Garcia (Uruguay/Nacional), Ernst Kuzorra (Germany/Schalke), Jose Manuel Moreno (Argentina/River Plate) - 2
    13 Fritz Szepan (Germany/Schalke), Romeu (Brazil/Fluminense) - 1

    Meanwhile, the 1941 standings too....

1941 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer panel consensus
    1
    Jose Manuel Moreno (Argentina/River Plate) - 60

Cheers, I will probably see them tomorrow - I think I'll be getting between two and four more updates done for the 1940s today though (I'm in the middle of the 1944 one right now, and it's a close one!)....

EDIT - One thing I will do, probably tomorrow, is add in votes from Dearman too (I haven't done that yet), so these ones I'm publishing today are definitely still provisional (but it'll be quicker to add votes in now I've made a start).

Yes, true, I always go back to that page and start from there when necessary - it is very helpful for sure. There isn't any direct link to any posts by elegos7 I don't think though there is there on that page, but just a mention of the work him and Peterhrt were doing?

Looking a bit deeper again at that PM discussion, I realise the 'joint' list that elegos7 and Peterhrt had agreed upon would be for pre-1920.

I haven't discovered on Big Soccer any 1940s votes by elegos7 but of course if I'm made aware of some I could still incorporate those, but anyway Dearman made lists for 1930s and 1940s (but without the 42-43 to 45-46 seasons) so I'll add those in for the 1940s now and put all the standings in one post....

Precisely, this indication from @Lasha the Idiotic, does not help you?

But it is clear that it is not clear if @elegos7 and @peterhrt have made their rankings for between the years 1920-1956. Unless they confirm it to us?

Just to confirm: Lasha hasn't sent me a private message yet, but suggested he will do soon as you will have seen on this thread (so then I will get a good idea if elgos did make some lists for the 1920s and later). Peter made some top 3s for various decades that I have incorporated in the votes, including the 1940s now.

Should I send it privately? I was thinking of sending them here, but will do privately.

I've seen the post you made on my profile now mate - thanks very much.

So yep now I'm aware that elegos has made some calls for top players in each 1940s year - actually only top 2s for the 'war years' - I don't want to try to make an 'executive decision' over your head @IceBlood34 but I guess in the circumstances we could make an exception and award some points to the players he named still in those 1940-1946 years even though there are only two names - how about half points (meaning 3 pts for 1st and 2 pts for 2nd)? Or even 5 pts for 1st (rather than 6), with 3 pts for 2nd (rather than 4)? I guess it is good to include his calls in some way anyway. For 1947-1949 he does name 3 players, so I can incorporate those selections as votes like I've done for various other votes (mainly ones from old threads) at times, still giving 6 points for 1st (and 4 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd).

    I understand your questions.
Indeed, I think that it would be logical in the case where people put only three players instead of 5, to put 5 points instead of 6 for the first, 3 points instead of 4 for the second and 2 point instead of 3 for the third.
After, if you think that staying like the 5 players votes, are the best thing, I let you manage mate
