That's up to @IceBlood34 mate (and depends a bit on votes continuing to come in or not probably anyway), but I think it will run into 2023 anyway, since the 2022 voting will be finalised after the New Year, and there are earlier years to start to look at re: compiling the voting tables, and maybe we even get a few more pre-1950 votes when that starts to happen. I mean it could be indefinite (continuously open for new votes), but maybe at some point IceBlood will like to declare the final results and announce the podium's, top 5s, top 10s etc a final time, but it's his project anyway so his choice on that.
Well, that's pretty hard to say. The answer is that I don't really know to be honest. At first I wanted to stop the votes by the end of 2022. However, as @PDG1978 said, we will have to wait until after the end of 2022, to put the results of the Ballon d'Or 2022 (although I strongly suggest to the voters, to take into account the change of FranceFootball, and rather focus on the season 2021-22). But afterwards, as we will also summarize the years before 1950, I thought it might be more interesting to leave the vote open indefinitely because: - it would allow any new user to participate - allow time for iminent members like @Trachta10 , @msioux75 , @carlito86 , etc to vote for other years/decades So for now, I don't see a deadline for the votes. Also, going back to the years before 1950, it seems that for the first years, we might be more on a top 3 than a top 5 because the soccer archives are quite rare, just to make a top 3...
Hello guys, With Karim Benzema's win last night, I had an idea that could be interesting to format our Ballon d'Or results. I think @Perú FC talked about it some time ago but if someone would have the talent and time to make a video (on Youtube or other platform) with the templates I made recently (see herewith) with the original music of the Ballon d'Or (https://www.instagram.com/p/CjlBYsGDzCr/), it would be a great boost for our ranking, to be spread on social networks and other platforms! If some are interesting in this video editing project, don't hesitate!
No issues with him being found guilty in his recent sex blackmailing case ?? France and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been found guilty of conspiring to blackmail a fellow French footballer with a sex tape. A judge handed Benzema a one-year suspended jail term and ordered him to pay a €75,000 (£63,000; $84,000) fine. Benzema, 33, was one of five people put on trial last month over an attempt to extort Frenchman Mathieu Valbuena. The scandal has stunned the football community in France and both players lost their national team places.
"Strange" speech when he received the trophy too Basically he repeated the speech he had pre-come-back in the national team, playing the victim of a political conspiracy and hint he was called-back for political reasons too. Most of all, he says that his family suffered during these times during which he was not in the "selection" (he never or rarely says "the French team") whilst the Famlily of Deschamps suffered too as their house had a graffiti accusing him of being a racist... He had a word for everybody (Perez... even Aulas at one point... his teammmates in both club, club, club and also the selection...) except for Deschamps who still is the one who re-integrated him after a private discussion ... ??? (surely it was not only Deschamps but also federation president Le Graet, who's accused of sexual harassment btw, with possibly some pressure from a higher level... but well it's still at a sportive level that the final decision was made, to the condition that a minimum of explanations were made... not even sure excuses were made, we can't know...) And he's supposed to be humble, a team-player and blablabla... "the ballon d'or of the people", he said interestingly, he almost forgot to carry the trophy with him when asked to make the photos. He forgot it actually as it stood on the desk and Zidane or someone else had to tell him to take it.
in 2006 there was that video of a super-excited Cannavaro (he handles the camera at first, his camera) that was published in 2005... so that's just one year, if not a few months before (!) when Parma players had injections the day before the UEFA Cup final game against Marseille if one understands Italian and/ or can read French, there's no ambiguity at all then, it's still more or less the same and there would be certainly many things to tell about the others who feature in the palmarès (this product was not forbidden at the time... then became forbidden...)
It also seems to me that even I have forgotten my own vote for the Ballon d'Or 2022: Here is my ranking: 1- Benzema 2- Mané 3- Salah 4- Lewandowski 5- Mbappé It was also difficult to place Courtois, I would definitely put him in the 6th place, but a place of a goalkeeper for the ranking of a Ballon d'Or is always delicate, some rightly see him higher in the ranking

Zizinho should now be on 3 points, tied with Hansen in 9th/10th in the 1952 list - I'd forgotten that Lasha had originally mentioned him as his 5th player for that year in his original posts, so I'll adjust that when I do the 1950s update with the newest votes added in. In the meantime, continuing with the adjustments to the previous standings, after Lasha's seasonal votes replace his other ones, with the 1980s, and then following will be the 1990s with a seasonal vote replacing the previous 1990 one plus new seasonal votes added in from 1990/91 onwards.... 1980 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer# panel consensus 1 Diego Maradona (Argentina/Argentinos Juniors) - Here are the 1990s standings with Lasha's adjusted/new votes added in - after this I'll just incorporate his votes in with other new ones for the 2000s onwards, so first I'll go back to the 1950s again to add in the new votes for those decades, now that I've sorted out the adjustments to Lasha's votes, then I'll move through the 60s,70s,80s,90s before getting to the completely up-to-date 2000s standings too.... 1990 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer# panel consensus 1 Lothar Matthaus (W.Germany/Inter Milan) - 1 # The tallies for the 1990 to 1996 Ballon d'Or votes include two sets of votes from Reddit voters, and the tallies for the 1997 to 1999 versions contain three. What I will need to do as well is add on another point for each 1st place from Lasha between 1949/50 and 1998/99 as I've just updated as if it was 5 points for the 1st places at the moment. I'll do that when I put in the other new votes though.
So here is the up-to-date update for the 1950s, adding a point for 1st places by Lasha in seasonal voting if they weren't his number 1 before (not for every 1st place - I didn't word it quite right above really), and taking away a point if he'd had players 1st before but replaced them in the seasonal voting (because like I said the adjustments I'd done above were as if it was 5 points for 1st places...and I made sure I was adding and subtracting the same number of points each year to double check I wasn't making a mistake), and also of course adding in the votes of ffff15 and aidin (from the 2000s onwards of course it will just be ffff15, as well as those seasonal votes from Lasha, as aidin had already voted on those years). 1950 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer# panel consensus 1 Ademir de Menezes (Brazil/Vasco da Gama) - Sorry temporarily forgot the Zizinho thing again! 1950, 1951, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 Ballon d'Or Revisited standings remain as above but this is the proper 1952 list (he's not level with Hansen, because Hansen now has more points, but in theory if Lasha's vote was properly added yesterday he would have been temporarily) - he's still in 10th place but on 3 points, not 4: 1952 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer# panel consensus 1 Ferenc Puskas (Hungary/Honved) - 128 2 Ladislao Kubala (Spain*/Barcelona) - 76 3 Sandor Kocsis (Hungary/Honved) - 65 4 Jozsef Bozsik (Hungary/Honved) - 22 5 Alfredo Di Stefano (Colombia**/Millonarios) - 14 6 Zlatko Cajkowski (Yugoslavia/Partizan Belgrade) - 12 7 Juan Schiaffino (Uruguay/Penarol) - 8 8 John Hansen (Denmark/Juventus) - 5 9 Tom Finney (England/Preston North End) - 4.5 10 Zizinho (Brazil/Bangu) - 3 11 Oscar Miguez (Uruguay/Penarol), Karl Aage Praest (Denmark/Juventus) - 2 13 Ernst Ocwirk (Austria/Austria Vienna) - 1.5 14 Baltazar (Brazil/Corinthians), Walter Gomez (Uruguay/River Plate), Billy Wright (England/Wolverhampton Wanderers), Branko Zebec (Yugoslavia/Partizan Belgrade) - 1
