Okay, I'm thinking of doing this. We can be open to the possibility of accepting the two new voters, BUT once they are accepted, I will personally close the thread, and create a new one for only the templates in this thread, in order to not keep adding late votes... How do I close a thread anyway?
@comme can help you I think, once you are ready to ask him. I think maybe @Agility should make a list with 5 per year too if he does want to vote, with enough difference between his list and the one of @Kopaskas10 (even though yeah I remember one time before at least where two new voters had similar lists submitted close together and copying and pasting might have played a part too - I guess it's against your initial idea that we make our own lists though - the problem is maybe that the longer things go on the more influence there will be from other voters and the general consensus). I guess that'd make it the same as for Kopaskas (requiring the 5 names per year to submit the 'last minute' vote) wouldn't it, so Agility could decide if they want to do that and let us know ASAP, otherwise we just have the Kopaskas votes to add in (I'd try to do that fairly soon for you, and the same for the votes of Agility if we have them too, so then you can close the thread and work on your templates).
Why do you need to close the thread? What’s the problem with allowing people to add their votes but they don’t get counted?

Messi had a better league campaign? He weren't even Barça's best player (it were Suarez). Ronaldo were neck on neck with Suarez for the pichichi award and had more goal contributions also. Not counting his goals were often decisive, particularly in clutch moments for Real Madrid's second place finish in the league. Also, he contributed with 6 of Portugal's 9 goals in the euro. Messi had a great copa América but lost the final to Chile even missing a penalty. Ronaldo injured in the final but his leadership impact even out of the pitch were undeniable. Also euro always weight more than copa America for ballon d'Or and winning silverware also matter. If that isn't enough, Ronaldo contributed with over 70% of real Madrid goals in the champions league scoring the very second highest tally in a single campaign (16) and still give 5 assists while Messi lost UCL in QF against atleti being completely invisible. So Ronaldo excelled in all fronts (domestic, continental and international competitions) while Messi fell short in the decisive moments
The problem is that I don't want to have new voters/votes added, because otherwise it would be indefinite and maybe at some point the results displayed would no longer be the right ones (for example, if we leave the votes open, I know I'll always have this curiosity in the back of my mind to wonder “what if the new votes would have influenced the rankings ?” ) As with every vote, there's an end period, and the thread has already reached 100 pages, probably collected about 50 different opinions and will celebrate (already!) its third birthday in February 2025, which has left a pretty substantial amount of time for any voter
If this thread is going to end, I would like you to add the votes for 2024. I will leave my votes for this year. 1 Vinicius 2 Rodri 3 Lautaro Martínez 4 Carvajal 5 Bellingham
I'm not sure if you are continuing to add more lists. Maybe I misunderstood and a while ago I opened my own thread. If you want, you can visit this thread, as there are some modifications with respect to the lists I contributed a few years ago. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/ranking-of-the-seasons-best-players.2129826/
Since IceBlood is waiting for one or two new guys to finalise voting (I guess Kopaskas is continuing beyond 1990) I can take care of updating your votes to the point you are at (adjusting the overall points tallies accordingly) too before he closes the voting off for the final time and gets on with preparing his summaries. I have all your provisional votes available anyway, and I know what the last update of yours that we took account of was.
What do I do, until what season do you have my modifications? Do you want me to put you from there until what you are missing or do you copy it directly from the link I gave you?

Maybe at this juncture it's a good time to return a bit to 1957 and Didi @anamnesis del fútbol - here is a piece about his free-kick goal in the World Cup qualifier vs Peru (and below is a synopsis of the other leg - there are a couple of mentions of Didi for helping create chances apparently there too) Peruvian national team: Didí's goal in Brazil that prevented Peru from playing in the World Cup Sweden 58 » Crónica Viva Peruvian national team: A detailed minute-by-minute account of the historic debut of the Blanquirroja in the Sweden 1958 Qualifiers | Peru vs. Brazil, 1957 | Didí | Toto Terry | SPORTS-TOTAL | PERU TRADE The line-ups of Brazil are here (so Nilton Santos was in the team too): Seleção Brasileira 1957-1958 I don't think the free-kick vs Peru is on here, but I guess the one at 0:25 is from the 1959 Copa America (vs Bolivia)....

Hi mate. What do you think about what Di Stéfano said about his time in Millonarios? He said that he reached the peak of his game in Millonarios Di Stéfano on his stages as a footballer:1. River: I played CF, with rare ability to shoot at goal.2. Millonarios: Technically better trained and with knowledge of the game as a whole. There I reached my prime.3. Real Madrid: I played for the team without selfishness. pic.twitter.com/4DmHi08NMF— Anamnesis del fútbol (@AnamnesisF) November 29, 2024
