    the 1st time I heard him I thought he was ok. the more I hear him the less I like him. He is also better on HDNet than as USMNT broadcaster. discuss.

    The reason why color commentary on USMNT broadcasts have to be watered down is the same reason why SUM/MLS wants nothing to do with the likes of Tommy Smyth.

    appeal to non-diehard fans: have a former USMNT player as analyst and make the broadcast accessible to casual viewers

    that is the only way MLS and the USMNT have a long-term TV future

    using Smyth as the main analyst doesn't help do that

    i'm thankful i don't have hdnet so i don't have listen to him... and i'm annoyed as all hell when he does national games... damn does he suck

    maybe not as bad as ty... but the who the hell in the world could possibly be as bad as ty... or have ty's ego

    Maybe the bang is a result of trying to become soccer's version of John Madden. The only difference is that Madden provides some insight into the game, which balbao does not seem to
