Bakayoko has never struck me as a very consistent player. He showed flashes of brilliance last year, but was ineffective for most of the season. Marseille is always a team with too many players under contract and tends to get impatient and rotate too much. If he wants to advance his career he might be better off going to a lower profile club. I think one reason he may also not be getting as much playing time is his Cote D'Ivoire background. That is not a top football nation like Senegal or Cameroon, and you don't see its players being respected as much in Le Championnat. Senegalese and Cameroonians have played prominent roles at many French teams, while Malians and Ivorians get ignored more.
