L’Italia batte 2-0 la Cechia e conquista la qualificazione diretta agli ottavi del Mondiale Under 17, dove affronterà la vincente dello spareggio tra Croazia e Uzbekistan: decisivi i gol di Arena e Maccaroni.
Congratulations Azzurrini u17. They had a battle against Uzbekistan. We will now face Burkina Faso. Perhaps we are favorites, but with the U17 you never know, players could become restless in a pinch. Maybe we are on a collision course with England, there is a chance of it.
Pissili with another goal but watching this Under 21 team ... man our system is really silly we should be playing our best players under 21 instead we play our best players above 20 and under 22 .... if a player is 17 and good enough then move him up but instead we don't want to upset our under 17 manager who wants to win so he can get a promotion in his career. These are part of the core issues.
Unfortunately, it looks like the U21s are going the way of the Senior finally. At least at U21 level we have qualified consistently, but looks like the issue is starting to leak and this group will need a playoff to advance. Is the start of U21 playoffs also? Time will tell. Doesn't look good for this cycle though...
I think success at youth level is somewhat overrated .. France for example don't do so well at under 21 but a lot of their best players are going from the under 17 teams straight to the senior team so this is a big reason. We need to take a few steps back to move forward. We will have worse results at first but eventually we will produce better players if we push younger players up a level.
yes you are both right. I saw similarities in the group points and goal differential with Poland as to the senior group with Norway and drew a conclusion early.
Beh vediamo tieni conto che le regole sono diverse dalle qualificazioni mondiali perchè nelle qualificazioni U21 in caso di arrivo a pari punto CONTANO I GOAL SEGNATI NEGLI SCONTRI DIRETTI (quindi siamo a -1) Well, let’s see. Keep in mind that the rules are different from the World Cup qualifiers, because in the U21 qualifiers, if teams finish level on points, the GOALS SCORED IN HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHES count (so we’re at –1).”
e per dire abbiamo vinto pure con l'U21 1-0 contro la polonia così ci siamo qualificati primi https://www.uefa.com/under19/match/2043425--poland-vs-italy/
Camarda has 4 goals in 4 games for the U21’s, at age 17. Camarda should have been with the under 21 team years ago and not playing for a Serie A team that is going to basically park the bus. If he was in the Barca academy he'd probably be Lewandowski's substitute and scoring easy goals his team creates for him.
Pisilli is yet another prime example of the current state of Italian football. Turning in performance after performance for U21, great motor and engine, yet can barely get time for his club. He should be constantly growing throughout the season at Roma and be ready in the wings as a contributor for the senior side. Instead we will have to live with flashes of brilliance at U21 qualification games.
After the regional selections in the North, South, Central-North, and Central areas—held on October 16, 23, 30, and November 6, respectively—with a total of 176 players participating, the Under-15 National Team will return to the field from November 21 to 23 at Novarello for the Christmas Tournament. Coach Enrico Battisti has called up 88 players, all born in 2011, among whom stands out Juventus defender Ismaele Abdoulaye Matteo, who will participate for the second consecutive year, after taking part in last year’s edition underage with Lecce. The Azzurrini, who will be divided into four teams of 22 players each (A, B, C, and D), will gather tomorrow, Thursday, November 20, at the ‘Novarello Villaggio Azzurro’ sports center in Granozzo con Monticello, in the province of Novara. Of the 88 players called up, 83 participated in the regional selections—27 in the North (30.7%), 11 in the South (12.5%), 21 in Central-North (23.9%), and 24 in Central (27.3%)—while five (5.7%) are entirely new: Enzo Diofebo, Bruno Savarese, and Edoardo Terlizzi, respectively forward, defender, and goalkeeper from Roma, plus Milan midfielder Christian Vigil Hidalgo and Mainz forward Luca Dellino. The latter increases the number of players coming from foreign clubs, which also includes defender Domenico Lanatà and midfielder Daniele Geraci, both playing in Germany for Stuttgart, as well as Luca Muzzi Moraes, a forward from Benfica in Portugal. The Portuguese player also belongs to the large group of “second-generation” athletes present at Novarello: his father is Brazilian goalkeeper Artur Moraes (born 1981), who played in Italy for Siena, Cesena, and Roma. Roma is also home to goalkeeper Edoardo Terlizzi, son of Christian—defender born in 1979, former Catania, Palermo, Pescara, and Sampdoria player in Serie A, who made his senior national team debut in Livorno (Italy-Croatia 0-2, August 16, 2006)—and where Matteo Pivotto, stopper born in 1974 and father of Bologna defender Benito, also played. Also included is Alessandro Danieli, Torino defender and nephew of Riccardo Fissore, defender born in 1980, former Vicenza player, and runner-up with the Under-18 National Team at the 1999 European Championship in Sweden (Portugal-Italy 1-0, July 26). The imaginary defensive line is completed by Brazilian Gleison Santos, born 1981, former Atalanta, Monza, and Reggina player, father of Pedro Dos Santos, defender for Atalanta. Midfielders Diego Succi and Sean Luis Ebagua, of Cesena and Venezia respectively, are sons of forwards Davide (born 1981, former Palermo) and Osarimen Giulio (born 1986, former Spezia and Varese), while Armando Floro Flores, Fiorentina forward, is the son of Antonio Floro Flores, striker born 1983, former Genoa, Sassuolo, and Udinese player, currently head coach of Benevento’s First Team after losing the Under-17 championship final last season in Rieti (Ternana-Benevento 2-0, June 15). It’s not just football: the list of second-generation players also includes Marlon Gato, Hellas Verona midfielder and son of Cuban volleyball player Ramón Ismael Gato Moya (born 1973), winner of the World League in 1998 and 2001. Regarding the SGS Championships, where the father of Roma forward Mattia Pica—Fabio, Under-17 coach at Frosinone, currently eleventh in Group C with 7 points—also coaches, notable call-ups include Bologna forward Leonardo Maria Lima Ramalho, top scorer in the Under-16 Serie A and B with 11 goals in 9 appearances (653 minutes) underage, and Cesena forward Gian Maria Boga, top scorer in the Under-15 Serie A and B with 9 goals in 8 games (607 minutes). Finally, six players (6.8%) who participated in the final phase of the Under-14 National Tournament “Il calciatore dell’Evolution Programme,” one of the flagship projects of the Youth and School Sector held from May 9 to 11 at the Olympic Preparation Center in Tirrenia, have been called up. They are: Alessandro Gennaro Esposito, Juventus defender from amateur club Victoria Marra (Campania); Christian D’Aiello and Pierre Edouard Touadi, defenders formerly at amateur club Nuova Tor Tre Teste (Lazio) now at Genoa and Sassuolo; Thomas Musollino, Lecce defender from amateur club Academy Pasquale Foggia (Campania); Nicolas Bottan, Como midfielder from amateur club Accademia Internazionale (Lombardy); and Enzo Diofebo, Roma forward from amateur club Virtus Francavilla (Apulia). Is this our world cup instead of next summer? Our Azzurrini u17 are fighting for a podium spot, so I will keep embracing it fully as this may be the only world cup we'll see. Forza Azzurrini. Austria will be a battle. Well done to Austria as they are building a strong footballing culture again. many people do not realize in the 50's they had built something very special, and of course the '78 through '82 teams were very talented.
WE SUFFERED in an ATROCIOUS way (they hit the post and the crossbar) and above all, WE SUFFERED for a very long time. Luckily, their goalkeeper made a HUGE BLUNDER (I think when he gets home they'll put an apple in his mouth, a carrot up his backside, and put him in the oven with potatoes or whatever other side dish they have available). Let's just say we played very poorly for long stretches, then fortunately, with the entry of Marini and Campaniello (who got BOOKED like an IDIOT; luckily he wasn't one yellow away from a suspension, while Marini unfortunately was, and will therefore miss the semi-final), we improved, but we need to do better. Having said that, you always suffer against African teams because they are physically DOMINANT at this level (and here I WONDER WHY Black players born in EUROPE or other parts of the WORLD don't have these characteristics, while in Africa it seems like they live in a different spacetime... as Andreotti used to say, thinking the worst is a sin, but often you get it right).
