Oggi inizia la prima fase di qualificazione a Euro U17 la partita è ITALIA-ESTONIA(partita Intera) Today the first qualifying phase for Euro U17 begins. The match is ITALY vs. ESTONIA (Full Match
On paper that match looks like the biggest fix of all time. a red card 2-0 up and then two penalties? was the ref Byron Moreno Jr?
I doubt it. Just Italy being retarded. Probably played stupid like the senior team did over a decade ago against Haiti. Absolutely no excuse not to batter these teams by 5 goals. Probably thought they were home and dry and stopped playing. This isn’t baseball where crying isn’t allowed. Unlike calcio where it very much is allowed. As far as I'm concerned they won't advance out the Group Stage.
watched the second half and Italy dominated except for two really stupid PK's that were absolutely unnecessary. Im less critical of the one by Natali as he was just boxing out the defender but Corradi's was absolutely comically stupid. This is not a very strong U20 team imo sp even if they advance out of the groups they arent going far
As well, 4 Weeks into the domestic season? (For Europe). What happened to holding this tournament in June like other editions? Europe usually put more stock into the U21 EC as opposed the U20 WC. I mean it isn't a true U20 or Yamal Lamine would be playing for Spain. Of course other teams here are missing players not released by their clubs. Stil though, no excuse to Draw to a Caribbean team.
Argentina on the way to a win. It's being televised here but I got the Playoffs on. So Arg on 6 Points. Italy on 4 Points. Will likely stay on 4. Australia eliminated unless they do something in the next 45 Minutes. Truthfully I cannot see Cuba beating Australia. If Cuba do win and Italy lose it will go to a Tie Breaker.
considera che abbiamo giocato con SETTE 2007 e un 2008(convocati su 21 ben DIECI!) considera che NEANCHE LE squadre di LEGA PRO hanno voluto rilasciare i giocatori e aggiungici che il ns miglior difensore centrale (AMEY) si è infortunato alla prima partita (e forse ha finito il mondiale) direi che tuttosommato era prevedibile che avremmo trovato difficolta contro squadre più vecchie soprattutto per mancanza d'esperienza detto questo il gioco che ho visto è buono , ma purtroppo come avevo scritto nella Preview era una SITUAZIONE VERAMENTE difficile perchè ABBIAMO la SQUADRA PIU' GIOVANE DEL TORNEO (TROPPO GIOVANE, RIPETO in pratica 10 su 21 possono giocare la prossima coppa del MONDO U20) Keep in mind that we played with SEVEN players born in 2007 and one in 2008 (a full TEN out of the 21 called up!). Also, consider that NOT EVEN the third-division (Lega Pro) teams were willing to release their players. On top of that, our best central defender, (AMEY), got injured in the first game (and his World Cup might be over). I'd say it was pretty predictable that we'd struggle against older teams, mainly due to a lack of experience. Having said that, the quality of our play was good. But unfortunately, as I wrote in the preview, it was a REALLY tough situation because WE HAVE the YOUNGEST SQUAD IN THE TOURNAMENT (TOO YOUNG, I'll say it again, basically 10 out of our 21 players are eligible for the next U20 World Cup)
I think in this case, we were 2-0 up battering them then youth naivety, poor refereeing, and individual stupid moments took mover. Why was Idrissou back as a defender sliding in from the side on the edge of the box? Stupid The ref on first penalty...what a ridiculous call even after VAR. That's a ref taking the game by the hands and forcing an issue that wasn't there just because he felt the tides turning to something worth talking about. One of the dumbest penalty calls I have ever seen. Corradi? An idiot. Of the highest order. Bench him for the remainder...it will serve him well in the long run to pay for his stupidity. He needs to sit and boil in losing his team 2 points for probably the most idiotic foul I have ever seen in a penalty box. Absolute moron and he needs to be told just that. If Nunziata keeps the group in perspective while handling the individual issues separately without unraveling, we can squeeze a narrow margin one way or the other against Argentina and we'll get through. Idrissou and Corradi need to be disciplined in the worst way unfortunately, they need to learn now and not later.
We couldn't formed a very competitive U20 team for this World Cup, where stars have been born. Prandelli talks about how Italian youth is failing, while he is now in charge. This truly pisses me off.
No offense, but Prandelli has been out of the loop for a while and has only just started in his new role. The problem with this U20 is that FIFA allows the national team to wait outside the window, so clubs have the option of not releasing their own players. Why do you think Nunziata called up 9 players born in 2007 and 1 born in 2008 out of 21 players? If you don't believe me, check how many other 2007 and 2008 players the other national teams have (I'll post links to the teams on TF) and tell me how many the other teams have (forget Nigeria, not even their mothers would bet on their real age). https://www.transfermarkt.com/u20-weltmeisterschaft/teilnehmer/pokalwettbewerb/20WC/saison_id/2024

After September’s victories over Montenegro (2-1) and North Macedonia (0-1), the journey of the Under-21 National Team in Group E of the UEFA European Championship Qualifiers continues with two home matches: on October 10 at the ‘Dino Manuzzi’ Stadium in Cesena against Sweden, and on October 14 at the ‘Giovanni Zini’ Stadium in Cremona against Armenia (both kicking off at 18:15 CEST, live on Rai 2). After the first two matchdays, Italy sits top of the table with 6 points, tied with Poland (currently ahead on goal difference), followed by Sweden and Montenegro with 3 points each, while Armenia and North Macedonia are still on zero. FOUR NEW FACES AND CAMARDA RETURNS There are four new names among the 25 players called up compared to last month: defenders Nicolò Fortini (Fiorentina) and Alessandro Dellavalle (Modena), and midfielders Giacomo Faticanti (Juventus Next Gen) and Alphadjo Cisse (Catanzaro). After missing out in September due to a head injury sustained in Lecce-Milan, Francesco Camarda rejoins the squad. It's worth noting that Brando Moruzzi (sent off against North Macedonia) will serve a one-match suspension and will only be available for the Armenia game. The Under-21 team will gather on Sunday evening in Bagno di Romagna (at Hotel Miramonti, which includes a training field), and will then move to Cervia the evening before the Cesena match. The day after the Sweden game, the Azzurrini will transfer to Cremona (Cremona Palace Hotel, training at the ‘Arvedi’ sports center). SHADES OF AZZURRO On the eve of the match against Armenia, Cremona will host the traveling exhibition ‘Sfumature di Azzurro’ (Shades of Azzurro) from October 10 to 14 at the Cortile Federico II in Piazza del Comune (free entry from 10:00 to 18:00). PAST ENCOUNTERS This will be the third meeting with Sweden in the last four qualifying campaigns (after those in 2021 and 2023, both of which ended with Italy topping the group). Sweden is one of the most frequently faced opponents in Italy’s U21 history: 21 total matches, with 9 wins, 8 draws, and 4 defeats for the Azzurrini, with 32 goals scored and 21 conceded — including the double final in 1992 that gave Italy their first Under-21 European title. There have only been two previous meetings with Armenia, who were beaten 7-0 on aggregate in 2019. CESENA AND CREMONA This will be the Under-21 team's third appearance in Cesena, a little over a year after the 2-0 win over Latvia (March 22, 2024). Cremona, meanwhile, will host its fourth Under-21 match, where Italy boasts a streak of 3 consecutive wins. The first was on April 20, 1983, a 2-0 friendly victory over Spain (goals by Mancini and Mauro), marking the debut of local talent Gianluca Vialli. Couldn't find a stream and our broadcaster here who has been showing U20 WC matches prefers to watch Preseason NHL games. *SMH*. Judging by the statistics Italy have clearly been second best. What's the point of bringing such a young squad? How valid is this? Anybody see it? 1974630143785419240 is not a valid tweet id
Italy lose and Australia beat Cuba. Italy finish 2nd and advance. If I read my bracket correctly, will likely be USA in the Round of 16. Or could be France.
Iv'e seen lesser fouls that were given PK's but the real screw job is the ref overturning an Italy goal due to a very cheap foul when the italian player won back the ball. Italy absolutely screwed these last two games by refs but if we end up playing USA in the round of 16 ill take that
it's about as thin of a margin as possible, but I have to give the foul against Italia too if I was the ref. My heart wanted it to be 50-50 but I think ultimately it was a foul and illegitimate. but I could see it the other way so maybe i am wrong; Still, Nunziata did the job I expected him to do which was marshal the group and keep the margin close one way or another securing qualification. Speaking of poor refereeing, the first PK given to Cuba against Italia is the biggest joke I have seen in the games. That was straight up a ref fishing for anything to give into the momentum of the crowd and create a narrative. I would not be celebrating playing the USA as right now they likely look like they will destroy us. At the end of the day Fifa not having this tournament in June or July was just asinine. We aren't seeing nearly close to the best version of Italia that was possible due to our stupid clubs blocking players form this valuable international experiences. I mean FFS even Serie B teams blocked players from playing like their clubs actually f'n matter more than a world cup. Others are needed more for the U21 qualifying...at the end of the day FIFA of course ruins a good thing by having this tournament randomly in September giving the clubs and U21 teams all the reason in the world not to allow the best players to play. That is what most frustrates me most. I'm at the point where I still see media bash Blatter, but FFS his version of FIFA ran things pretty great. Infantino is becoming an antichrist of football. Infantino sucks. I'd take Blatter back in a heartbeat.
R16 So it is the USA as Italy's opponent in the next match. And no, no celebrating here. USA beat France in the Group Stage. I imagine the French team had difficulty having Club's release the very best U20 of their players as well. Not the USA's issue, of course. They can only play what's in front of them.
I still have trust Nunziata can keep the game under some level of control. I think we have a chance but my optimism is solely based on Nunziata.
We'll see — we have the handicap of having a VERY YOUNG team (again, with the exception of NIGERIA, which however...) but most of the players are talented (paradoxically, most of the talent is concentrated among the younger ones), so we can compete with anyone. To be honest, I MUST SAY, I thought we would struggle to get through the group stage — and yet... I had already written this in the PREVIEW (which evidently many didn’t read) of the tournament. Let's see — all in all, I think that if we can hold up physically, we can have our say.
