I think the core pool of players we will see at EURO 2020 (2021) is definitely present in your list. Mancini has made it relatively clear that he has the majority of his roster already selected. In my opinion, the players who are battling for those final spots are as follows: GK: Meret vs. Sirigu CB: Izzo vs. Bastoni WB: Lazzari & Spinazzola vs. Emerson Palmieri; Florenzi; Faraoni; and/or D'Ambrosio MID: Bonaventura vs. Castrovilli and Sensi FOR: Berardi vs. Pellegrini* *For international tournaments, Italy tends to only take 5 forwards (max) with 7 or 8 midfielders. Although I am a fan of Berardi, I think Pellegrini is much more versatile and can cover a lot more areas in midfield/attack. Players in danger of losing their "guaranteed" spots: Chiesa --> Orsolini/Berardi/Lasagna Bernardeschi --> Orsolini/Berardi/Lasagna Potential surprise pick in attack: Francesco Caputo; or Federico Bonazzoli
Saw the U21’s training at Coverciano along with the senior team. Will the under 23 age limit raise to Under 24 because the Olympics is moved up to next year?
Being an Under 24 tournament with three over aged players , teams could field what is an almost national team and/or mini World Cup. Makes you wonder if things will change in the future?
Is Balotelli not going to be considered any longer because he was phased out at Brescia? I mean he was considered co-captain when Mancini was hired and now he is already out of favor?
Here is my Euro 2021 squad (with their age in 2021) Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Donnarumma (22) Salvatore Sirigu (34) Alex Meret (24) Right Backs: Leonardo Spinazzola (28) Alessandro Florenzi (30) Centre Backs: Leonardo Bonucci (34) Francesco Acerbi (33) Alessio Romagnoli (26) Daniele Rugani (26) Left Backs: Cristiano Biraghi (29) Federico Dimarco (23) Central Miedfielders: Jorginho Frello (29) Marco Verratti (28) Lorenzo Pellegrini (24) Manuel Locatelli (23) Roberto Gagliardini (27) Nicolò Zaniolo (22) Wingers: Lorenzo Insigne (30) Federico Chiesa (23) Stephan El Shaarawy (28) Daniel Caligiuri (33) Strikers: Ciro Immobile (31) Patrick Cutrone (23) .

Looks like his days as a player may be coming to an end as well... Da Pato a Balotelli: i migliori svincolati sul mercato - La ...
Over the last weekend there was only 72 Italian players starting in Serie A out of 220 players. In England 91 English players started in the EPL out 220 players. I would never thought I would see the day where there was more english players starting in their league. This is an ultimate lowpoint. England now have one of the best teams in the world cause they believe and play their youth. In Serie A there is too much of an obsession with buying foreign players and at what cost? Italian clubs cant ever win in europe anyway.
just wait pal, Inter mad it to final of Europa last season and Milan is on the way back up, maybe even blow the doors on Europa this season. Juve is Juve
big win for the boys. good to see Soriano back and debuts for Bastoni, Pellegri, Pellegrini, Pessina, and Calabria
Immobile is still not negative and will miss the game... Immobile non è ancora negativo, niente Nazionale.
I swear if this side had a reliable striker it would be a contender. They have looked very good under Mancini until they get to the final third.
A win tonight in Sarajevo will guarantee top spot in UNL Group A1 and hosting the UNL Final Four next October (delayed from June because of the rescheduling of euro2020).
totally fun and all that.. but this is still a friendly tournament IMO. I'm happier with the way we are playing and gearing up towards a strong Euro next summer. Let's not put too much importance into this made up meaningless tournament.
Hardly meaningless. It's a UEFA competition, it counts towards the FIFA ranking for next month's WC preliminary draw and offers a route to Qatar via the UEFA WC playoffs in march 2022. All that is why the UEFA teams take it so seriously.
