I just got done watching the Dutch Eredivise Highlight Show on FSW and AZ thrashed someone 7-0!!! #7, a blonde dude for AZ-Alkmaar was everywhere....was that just a good match for him or is he really that good?
Do you mean Meerdink, who scored 3 goals? Last matches he's doing good, but at the beginning of the season he wasn't even in the starting line-up. It's not that he always plays as well as last Saturday. I was an enormous good game for all players last Saturday. It's not normal that good.
!! I played against some of those AZ starters in Amsterdam last summer.....they smoked the hell out of us, they were that good. But also, most of the players from my team were completely hung over from the week and fatigued. We had played 5 matches in 10 days !!
It was a real match, during the Haarlem Cup 2003. I felt like a dumb*** being on the same pitch as the AZ players because most of us went to play and have a good time, while most of the guys on our team were in the coffee shops & pubs all day and night !! How do they expect to play well and actually put up a fight when they're hung over the whole week !!!!
well, we played the actual AZ team in an exhibition match in the main RCH stadium. It was a kind of treat for us and the crowd alike to see the REAL AZ team play an actual game in front of them. We played on the last day of the tournament for nothing more than fun. It was one hell of an experience, and we also played Telstar B-Team & U21 or 19 squad, FC Haarlem, RCH, and a local team from Heemestade (spelling??).
It's Heemstede. Strange that I didn't hear about that match. I visited all except 1 of the testmatches last summer. If I had known that the main AZ team had played there I would have come to watch. Do you know which date it was exactly last year that the match was played?
it was around July 26th or so....??! I was there for about 2 weeks and that had to be one of the best times I ever had. Are you in or near Amsterdam FORZA AZ ?
I live in Alkmaar, where AZ is from. It's about 40 km north of Amsterdam. It couldn't have been July 26th, as AZ played FC Lisse (3rd level) then. Lisse is near Heemstede by the way, so maybe the reserve team played you?
