Can't find any other. With the new contract for Eddie Johnson, Landon Donovan, Garcia, Palencia, I think the average went up a bit after 2 seasons. If it is 10k increase, then the average is $90,000 for MLS. However, MLS expanded the roster to 28 players. That will have a negative impact on the average salary.

To get a fair comparison with MLS, wouldn't you have to include the baseball players who are under contract with major league teams but playing in the minors (for very little money)? And don't NHL teams do the same thing?
No, because MLS salaries don't include the developmental players who aren't on the full roster either.
Small market teams in baseball weigh down averages especialy with players still on rookie and minor league contracts. Top players in baseball certainly make more money than top players in other sports especially with a player's union that allows for very long term guaranteed deals and no salary cap.
NBA teams have an active roster of 12 players, so there's fewer players to share the pot. Baseball teams have 25 or 40 depending on the part of the season, while NFL teams have about 50. MLB has the highest total league payroll.
Average salary for serie A last season was 923,000 € (1,246,000 $) http://www.repubblica.it/2006/11/se.../stipendi-calciatori/stipendi-calciatori.html for serie B it was 204,000 € (275,000 $) 5 years ago it used to be much higher, especially in € (serie A 1,123,000 €, serie B 295,000 €). Don't know about other leagues
Cool thread. I made one similar, but to the Original Poster, whats the comparison of the top dogs of each league? Serie A, EPL, NHL, NBA, and NFL??
Heres a link to the salary of the top four clubs in Serie A. Big drop here from Juventus with €115m at third and Roma with €69.7m at fourth. http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/5240/gioci.png
