How is it good to win by only 1 goal at home considering the club coefficients? Salzburg (42.520) vs. Liepaja (1.075) Admira Modling (6.020) vs. Kapaz PFK (2.975) FK Austria Wien (19.020) vs. FK Kukesi (4.075)
They all should have won by more, but there were no away goals! As far as I know, a win is a win as far as coefficients are concerned.
Yes, but if Salzburg and FK Austria Wien had won 3:0 they would have had no worries about the second leg and wouldn't have to use their best players. I don't know the Austrian Bundesliga schedule, but assuming Salzburg advances over Liepaja, they will play in UEFA in five of the next six midweeks (the second leg vs. Liepaja, two legs in Qualifying Round 3, a midweek without UEFA games, and two legs in the Playoff Round for the Champions League or Europa League depending on the outcome of Qualifying Round 3). Salzburg winning only 1:0 hosting Liepaja is like Barcelona winning a La Liga game 1:0 hosting a club in the relegation zone. Some games are so easy that winning isn't an accomplishment.
Admira Mödling beat Käpäz 0-2 in Azerbaijan to win 3-0 on aggregate. They will face Slovan Liberec (CZE) in the 3rd Qualifying Round. Mödling starts at home.
FK Kukesi 1-4 FK Austria Wien Austria advances 5-1. Europa 3rd Qualifying Round Schedule: 28 July, 4 August Admira v Liberec Austria Wien v Spartak Trnava (SVK) Torpedo-Belaz Zhodino (BLR) v Rapid Wien Europa 3rd Qualifying Round Schedule: 26 July, 3 August Partizani v Salzburg
Champions League, 3rd Qualifying Round: Partizani 0 - 1 Salzburg Salzburg earns an important road win in Albania courtesy of a PK. Each team had a player sent off in the second half.
Considering the club coefficients, Austria Wien and Rapid Wien didn't do well: Austria Wien 0:1 Spartak Trnava Spartak Trnava scored the only goal in the 46th minute. Spartak Trnava managed to get a whopping 8 yellow cards, with 7 of them in the second half, but nobody got two yellows. Austria Wien got their only yellow card in the 90+4th minute. Torpedo-Belaz Zhodino 0:0 Rapid Wien Rapid Wien got a draw away, but they can't advance on away goals. With Admira and Slovan Liberec of Czech Republic tied at 1 in the second half, the game got interrupted. Why?
Lights in the stadium went out. Decent result for Rapid, but Austria can't be happy needing a win in Slovakia.
The game resumed, Slovan Liberec scored in the 69th minute to go up 2:1, and the lights went out again. Edit: The game resumed again and is in the 75th minute. Edit: There was a third interruption, Admira got a red card, and it ended 1:2.
Red Bull Salzburg won 2:0 to win the aggregate 3:0. Slovan Liberec beat Admira 2:0 to win the aggregate 4:1. I don't know why that game was played one day earlier than the rest of the Europa League games.
Austria survived - barely! They dominated the game, and Friesenbichler subbed in the 71 minute and scored in the 88th. Austria's keeper Almer saved the 10th PK to put Austria up 5-4 in the shootout. Rapid had a little easier time winning the game and the aggregate 3-0. Goals by: Pavelic 26 Schrammel 36 Schaub 90+2 Salzburg, Rapid and Austria will all be seeded in the Playoff draw tomorrow.
Red Bull Salzburg will host the second leg against Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia. Rapid Wien will host the second leg against Trencin of Slovakia, who came from Champions League Qualifying Round 3. Austria Wien will host the first leg against Rosenborg of Norway, who came from Champions League Qualifying Round 3.
Champions League (Final Qualification Round) Dinamo Zagreb 1 - 1 Red Bull Salzburg Salzburg gave up a penalty with a quarter hour to go, but the result is quite favorable going into the home leg next week.
Europa League (Qualification) Austria Wien 2 - 1 Rosenborg Trencin 0 - 4 Rapid Wien Austria scored twice early in the second half but gave up a crucial away goal in the 90th minute. This will be a close series with Rosenborg. Rapid, on the other hand, has their series well under control, thanks to a hat trick by Schaub.
Red Bull Salzburg will go to the Europe League Group Stage after being eliminated at home in extra time. Both legs were 1:1 after regulation, leaving goals and away goals tied. Dinamo Zagreb scored the only goal of extra time.
Hi guys. I'm Korean who is interested in Salzburg (because of Korean FW Heechan Hwang). I want to watch Salzburg videos but I can't find it so I visit here. Do you know any site where has full match or highlights of Salzburg? If you know, I need you help. Thank you!
Salzburg has made a habit of getting knocked out of the Champions League, breezing through the Europa League group games, and getting knocked out quickly. Let see if they repeat that this year.
Europa League (Qualification) Rosenborg 1 - 2 Austria Wien Rapid Wien 0 - 2 Trencin Both Austria and Rapid advance 4 - 2 on aggregate, though in rather different fashions. After a convincing 4 - 0 win at Trencin, Rapid found themselves down by two goals at home after 35 minutes. Thankfully, a red card for the visitors early in the second half halted any angst Rapid might have been suffering over a potential massive choke. In Norway, Austria repeated the scoreline of the first leg. The nail in the coffin came in the 68th minute when Kayode put Austria up 2 - 1, meaning Rosenborg would need three more goals to advance.
