    Next Up:
    Spain - Austria
    Semi-finals
    14 May 2003
    15:00 (local time)

If Spain's U-17 team is anything like the one they sent to the tournament in Egypt over the winter break (a U-18 team) Austria is in for a long afternoon.

    Spain - Italy 2-0
    Israel - Spain 0-3
    England-Spain 2-2

They have scored 7 goals and only given up 2.

Hmmm, I wonder if this'll be on TV. Eurosport, probably. Although if Spain is as good as you say, I'll only have to watch the first ten minutes or so anyway.

Austria has already had a good showing. A loss to Spain would not be tragic.

    Here is Spain's qualifying record:
    Spain - Bulgaria 3-0
    Wales - Spain 0-3
    France - Spain 0-2

In six UEFA games, Spain has scored 15 goals and only let 2 in. Austria had better be ready for this one.

    According to Eurosports webpage:
    http://www.eurosport.co.uk/static_f...sportid=10000&personid=2&venueid=0&Gener=true

    Both games will be shown:

    10:00 Football
    European Under-17 Championship Portugal
    Semi-finals

    11:30 Football
    European Under-17 Championship Portugal
    Semi-finals

How this is going to work, I have no idea. I thought the Austria game was at 15h00 local time. I don't get eurosport, so too bad for me.

Couple of nice-looking consolation goals. Hell, at least it wasn't 9-0!

I hate third place games. No someone (probably Austria) is going to have to go home with a fourth-place finish. They don't do that at Wimbledon. Why can't they just call them both semifinalists and call it good?

No, I take it all back - third place games are great!
