Congrats to First Division Mattersburg who did what no Bundesliga team could achieve this year--beat GAK. GAK was not only the hottest team in the country, but they were also the defending Austria Cup holders. Mattersburg sits atop the First Division by a commanding 11 points, and if they continue with this form, they could be the Pasching of next year. Also, nice road wins by Kärnten and Salzburg. Besides Mattersburg, the other three semi-finalists are all Bundesliga teams, and I'd have to say Austria Wien must be counted as the favorite. (I think GAK could have challenged Austria Wien, but Mattersburg did 'em a huge favor.) Still not a done deal, though, as Austria Wien must travel to that brand-spankin' new stadium in Salzburg. Actually, I think it could go either way on the artificial surface against Salzburg.
