The Bresc coming off was definately not expected. Hopefully Cahill can teach the japanese how to use their heads. Both mysyically and mentally.

wtf are you talking abt?? they showed the replay at least 5 times, and shep messing was ALL OVER IT! put down the crack pipe.
Announcers got it spot on, 32 years and giving up that goal; But I see the replay, in some ways a nudge, I don't think it was good; mindya, but at times, difficult to just rule off a score; it's close.
Ok... I assume you'll be having a chat to that not-so-moderating moderator? Japanese player hurt, Kewll got bundled but at least he got back up right away. The Japanese are not playing sportingly.
They showed one alternative angle severla times. Very poor. And Messing's "analysis" consisted of calling it a "bad call". Seriously, watch some non-US coverage to see the difference.

yeah. im watching it on a brazilian satellite station and they looked at it from all sorts of angles after the play and during the half. really good analysis from them. not sure how the american coverage was.
"The world cup is like the World Series, the Olympics, and the birth of your first child, multiplied by AWESOME" - some guy on the Daily Show.
Funny how other countries have managed to show other angles at halftime...sounds like ESPN isn't using the material it has very effectively.
I was thinking about that, but everything else -- replays, overlays -- are up to each broadcaster. I don't think the rest of the world is seeing the plugs for the US game
I think that is what ended up costing him the whistle. In real time there is obviously contact, but it looked to me like it was mostly a case of him misjudging it. On the replay its an obvious foul, but I can see how the ref was invited to swallow his whistle.
I believe he's talking about Globo, which as one of the bigger media organizations in the world, has some of its own cameras at some of the games.
Depens, Summer Olympics are huge but the winter Olympics are absolute dog crap and should be abolished.
I wonder if the ref had a good view. Can anyone tell that. A lot of crap comes from bodies being in the way between the ref and the play
