Canberra United goalkeeper Lydia Williams got an acl a few days ago. I guess that knocks her off for the entire up coming season?
Canberra signed Washington Spirit and former Perth Glory GK, Chantel Jones...Perth has picked up Matilda and former WSW GK Mackenzie Arnold...
Draw released! http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/news-display/Westfield-WLeague-201415-season-draw-released/91350 http://static.ffa.sportalhosting.com/site/_content/document/00002215-source.pdf I just wish they could add two more gamedays... would it be so hard to go from an imbalance 12-game schedule to a nice home-and-away 14-game schedule? Also, this was particularly interesting to me: Glad to hear the IWCC/mobcast Cup is apparently heading in to its third year!
Oh, I guess someone should rename the thread since, like five years ago, the season won't actually go in to the New Year...
With all the US W-League players playing in the Aussie W-league is there a Live Stream we can view? Or at least a radio feed that can be picked-up through the computer.
Do you mean NWSL players? =-) I don't think many US W-League players regularly go overseas. As for streams, I know the Aussie ABC would regularly stream games (and easily provide the links) but I was never able to view them...
The only one I know of that even has highlights available to the US is Melbourne, and only their home matches.
Yes, they do stream games. I watched some last season. They are geoblocked but it's very easy to overcome.
Aw, now I'm super bummed. Both Foord and Kerr are leaving Sydney to play for Perth. I hope Staj has something up his sleeve, or this is going to be a long season for my team.
Jody Taylor played for Sydney too, is she coming back? They still should have several upcoming Aussie players like Bolger, Harrison, Logarzo & Longo
Longo is a Kiwi, and she didn't play for the club last season. Not sure on Taylor returning. She might want to stay closer to home now that she's got her foot back in the NT picture for England, since she had to turn down a callup to train with the NT due to her commitment to Sydney during last season. I guess I should have more faith in Staj, since most people wrote us off a couple years ago when we lost several players to the Wanderers, and we ended up sneaking into the Grand Final and winning it. He does have a knack for finding young talent and giving them the chance to succeed. I'm not going to beat around the bush- the losses are going to hurt. Not only are we losing Kerr and Foord to Perth, but Khamis is out for the year with another A-word, and Rollason, who was a rock for us, retired after last season. If Taylor elects not to return, I have no idea where the goals are going to come from. It's not all negative news, though. We have a solid keeper in Dumont, who saved our asses several times last season, and the midfield looks to remain intact with both Bolger and Polias. And you mentioned the young talents of Harrison and Logarzo, who may become mainstays for the Matildas in the future.
Sydney announces its current squad for Season 7: http://thewomensgame.com/2014/08/familiar-names-make-up-2014-sydney-fc-squad/ Where are the goals going to come from?
did they possibly misspelled the goal keeper's name, and it could be Ashlyn instead of Alyssa? Well glad to see Simon back on after her injury last November in San Antonio, I bet she voted against playing on turf! But she was considered a prolific goal scorer in the past, so she might replace Taylor's prowess in hitting the net. What about defending champs, Melbourne? Lauren Barnes signed up again. But Fishlock signed on with Frankfurt(Bundesliga) instead. and don't know how Devanna will play, especially with all the problems lately she's having with coaches
No, it's a different keeper. No US player that's in the NT pool is going to be able to go overseas this winter. Besides, she'd never go to a team to be the backup again, and Dumont is the starter for sure.
The squad for the Victory: http://www.melbournevictory.com.au/...h-victory-w-league/18vzzwyju0ryz1odq6qonbulve Melbourne looks like they're going to be tough to knock off their perch. But no team has been able to win the final in 2 straight seasons, so history is not on their side.

The Wanderers' squad: http://thewomensgame.com/2014/09/wa...al&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer Eep. Unless they get some big guns in, I'd be shocked if they finished near the top 4.
Brisbane Roar W-League 2014/15 squad http://www.brisbaneroar.com.au/article/brisbane-finalise-w-league-squad/194vb09kl9fhk1kv9ujusnypl3
W-League gets off to a very interesting start. Last season's champs Melbourne fell 1-0 to last season's wooden spoon winners Newcastle on a goal by Angela Salem.
