The Aurora Borealis (Head coached by Fire Legend C.J. Brown) updated their website with a schedule among other things. For those burned out on the Fire, season tickets are $40, parking is free, and they play at Mooseheart college in Aurora. I'll be picking up some season tickets soon as the schedule and location are convenient for me.

If season tickets aren't your thing the Aurora Borealis play the Chicago Fire PDL on Wed May 18th at 7 pm @ Mooseheart. It would be nice to see a lot of support at that one for obvious reasons.

Loonix also told me to include the following links for your viewing pleasure:

If the weather's nice, this would be the perfect first game for my daughter since we could probably walk there. I assume Coach House around 5?

That is one of the greatest teams names ever. Thanks for providing that.

However, @Ke1n, you mention "Chicago Fire legend" CJ Brown.

It shall be known, by official proclamation of the Chicago Fire Front Office, that term "Chicago Fire legend" shall forever be reserved for Logan Pause, as opposed to actual Chicago Fire legends like CJ Brown.

You obviously forgot about the NHL St. Louis Urinal Cakes and the NFL Green Bay Cholesterol.

First home game tonight at 7! Be there or be square. It's also shaping up to be a beautiful night for some soccer.

Aurora Borealis sounds like an exotic Burlesque dancer from the 1930s.

The wife, the baby and I are heading to Coach House for pre-game dinner and drinks and then heading over. Say "hi" if you spot us. I'm sure, at this point, I owe the collective lot of you something like 400 beers...

I'll take any of the Goose Island non-alcoholic soft drinks.
They make a good root beer.

  16. Aurora Borealis down 2-0 at the half. They may be out of their league. Lewandowski scored the first goal for Warta.

That was fun. Got to say hi to the BS member I knew. The Northern Lights didn't win, but it was fun. 2-1 loss.

BTW, @GHjelm , was that you on the north side of the stands? We thought it was you, but we weren't brave enough to ask.

Yeah. We moved up there after realizing 10 second bursts of AC/DC at 300 decibels probably isn't good for a baby. We could be wrong though, we're new at this. [emoji1]

It was a nice relaxing game after a long work week. Also, season tickets are $40 and a coke costs a dollar. Hard to beat that.

Also, now that Matsuri closed in Geneva, I can redirect all my restaurant money at pregame beers at the Coach House. I had a really good hefeweizen last night. Church Street maybe?

I had a good time there the team had a little trouble with handling the ball in the attacking half of the field but it is very much a work in progress. It was nice seeing Jiggs and his dad. Next time ill have to run into you GHjelm and say hi. In case you've never seen me I look very much like my avatar. Also I am interested in this Coach House place you speak of. When i'm in that area I usually go to the Turf Room off Orchard. They've got delicious food too.

Oh and something else that was also cool there was a very large tree at the end of the parking lot and in the top of that tree was a bald eagle and a nest with 2 eaglets. Ill post the picture later but I considered it a good omen.

I almost forgot about the eagle. It flew majestically 50ft up over the whole length of the field. The pair always comes back to Mooseheart, although they pick different trees every year. It became a traffic hazard when they were out by Randall a couple of years ago.

    Gammon Coach House:

The food is good classic bar food. I had a really good pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato tater tots and my wife liked the Margherita Pizza. The beer is where they really distinguish themselves. The menu changes regularly:

A dollar for coke seems pretty cheap, is that by the can or the line?
Also, Is "coke" good for the baby? Coca-cola certainly is not!

  24. As it flew over the south goal Watra struck one off the bar. How often can you go to a soccer match and see a nesting pair of bald eagles in the wild and so close to banal urbania?

Well, to be fair, at Toyota Park, we do have raccoon and dead pigeons
