It looked like a foul on Brunner just before that. Osawe seems to attract unlucky cards lol, I remember him getting a harsh red v France in U17 final.

2-1, good finish but we didn't defend the cross well. Defence was always likely to be a problem with the likes of Jeltsch, Odogu, Dal and Moreira out.

 

Wow, England's left winger missed an absolute sitter. It should have been 2-2. We could have blown a 2-goal lead in just a few minutes. We need to wake up.

 

2 goals in 2 minutes! First Moerstedt deflects a Watjen shot in for 3-1 and then Wurm heads in from a Darvich corner for 4-1.

 

Lucky deflection and we are leading 3-1!!!

And now it's 4-1, a header off a set-piece. 2 goals in 2 minutes.

England look pretty open defensively overall. I don't know if they are playing with their B team.

 

Our attacking four of El Mala, Moerstedt, Brunner and Darvich is pretty strong for the U19 level. Could we possibly win the tournament?

Is Ouedraogo part of the squad? Why is he not a starter?

 

In the space of 10 minutes, we've conceded 4 goals and it's now 5-5. Wtf is going on? This is completely unacceptable.

 

Hanno Balitsch masterclass: ao just go there and play football, this is not a team , ia just kids playing football... ao much talent waisted again.. DFB is the Football Orgsnisation with the worst trainers in the world....

 

Disgraceful collapse, what we saw under Wuck with the 06 was a team that was well organised with a clear structure. Under Balitsch that is totally lacking.

 

To be fair, 2 or 3 of the goals were the goalkeeper's fault, not the defenders or the lack of structure.

 

Yes, of course a coach can’t control every individual mistake — but he can build a stable midfield. And pairing Watjen with Osawe was clearly not it.

No one understands why Harchaoui wasn't even nominated for the U19s. When the team started collapsing, Balitsch remained completely calm — no reaction, no tactical adjustment. Why? Probably because there was no Plan B… or even a Plan A.

In the end, it almost doesn’t matter. The players will find their way individually — they’re talented enough. But what’s truly frustrating is that Balitsch will likely be rewarded: U20 coach next year? Or even U21? Nothing would surprise me anymore.

My only hope is this:
The new DFB reforms aren't just reshaping the players — they’re reshaping the coaches too. Less rigid "license masters" and more true developers. If that part of the vision really kicks in, maybe there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

 

Hope to see Wanner start.

 

Read somewhere (Bild i think) that Di Salvo said that Wanner will start tonight and that he has been very good in training scoring a lot.

He has fantastic qualities, but sometimes you feel like he could do more in matches. He has the ability to dictate games, hopefully he can get another good loan (maybe Stuttgart?) and show more of his hinrunde form with Heidenheim.

Would really be great if we can do well this tourney ….. I really don’t mind if Germany gets flooded with talent ….

 

04 CF Sanne is moving from Hamburg to RL Wacker Burghausen. Shame he isn't moving to a higher level, especially as he already scored a lot of goals at that level in 23/24 but still an interesting example of a short striker with good aerial ability. Was on loan at Hannover II and Dordrecht last season.
