I was surprised to find that the average attendance in Israel for a Premier match is over 5,600. I thought it was lower than that. The attendance in Greece for 1st Division is only about 2,400. Thoguht is terrible for a country with 11 million people.

I am surprised it is even this high in Israel. Yeah, we have been having an exciting league season thus far, but practically every Ligat ha'Al (Premier League) match is televised live. I live very close to Ashdod yet, I never go to a match 1 because I don't support Ashdod, 2 because I don't get the soldier's discount, 3 I can watch it on television, 4 because most matches are on the sabbath, and 5 because it has been really crappy weather lately.

There is big fan bases for teams in Liga Ahal. No question about it. Most of the upcoming/promoted teams are also quite big as well....

I think that truly....the only team that doesnt have much fans is Maccabi Petach Tikva, which has only about 200-500(max) fans...

most teams have over 20,000 (if im not wrong) fan base, and a good majority of those fans go regularly to games and some have season tickets...

Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv and sometime Beitar jerusalem are prime examples of teams that can have 10,000+ fans in a game...

hapoel beer sheva has the 1 or 2 games as well...Maccabi Netanya has an old stadium unfortunately :(

Do you mean 'how long does it take me'? It takes me about thirty minutes, sometimes less to get to my university from home. Just take Rt. 40 from where I live past Rehovot, Ramle, Lod, Ben Gurion International Airport, then you end up between Or Yehuda and Petah Tikva. Or Yehuda is two minutes from the campus.

The Mazda6 that comes to Israel only comes with a 2.0 liter engine or a 2.3 liter engine. Both are V4. The 2.0 liter costs about NIS 190 (US $43.69) to fill up without tax. The only citizens who don't pay tax are the ones in Eilat. So the real cost comes out to NIS 240 (US $55.17). I remember that in America I filled up a Jeep Grand Chrokee Limited with a 4.6 liter tank V8 engine and it only cost me US $20.00!

It is better that the prices in Judaea and Sumaria. Supposedly, Yassir Arafat watered the gas to make a hefty profit for himself and ruined thousands of Arabs cars.

Not bad, Not bad! The thing i dont like in israel, is that when they have a rate, than you have to first go to the cashier give the cash and you usually have to do a fill up, no? I don't know how it goes in Israel. To be honest, i never filled up gas and i never paid much attention to the gas prices.

Also.. Is there a company that sponsors a team in a jersey?? perhaps Paz? or Delek? Anyone know?

a 2.0 is good, epseically a v4. I have a 2.5 litre engine. My car is Dodge Spirit 1992. Its nothing fancy, but i have added the 1 or 2 things to help me have some fun. I have an Mp3 player i just added in and i put Castrol Transmission fluid, and that baby rocks like a hurricane...

But its not much to look at. Pretty old. Juss that i taken care of it. Has 192,000 KM

Israel is like most modern western countries. You drive up, and a serviceperson walks out and fills your gas tank. You only pay afterwards when a total bill can be made.

There are only two chains of petrol stations in Israel that are self service. Alon and Dor, but other then that all the major ones are full service.

Delek was a shirt sponsor of Maccabi Netanya. The shirt would have a Delek patch on the sleeves.

    I know, I know!!
It does look new some of them...But there are quite a few of gas stations in israel. I just thought that you can't fill up like 24.49 shekel.. U have to fill up to the top or something. I got a few wrong messages. But yea, most of the time that i filled up gas, the place looks nice and clean. The people who work there look kinda odd, and a little criminalish!! But they got a store there pretty much, you can buy ciggariot and newspapers and bisli and everything :)
Plus some air refreshners for the car.

Dor is good. Is there any deals..like a members card that you save or something. I seen Alon in the Highway in Derech Tel Aviv....its nice. People drive insanae in Israel. Your a praying mantis if you drive to switch lanes..

    And very respectable jersey too!!!
I just wonder who has Izizu sponsor? there in Liga Ha'al?

You said earlier that you never filled up a gas tank in Israel? You can pay whatever amount you want, why would you think otherwise? The people do not look like criminals. The government gives extra money for college in Israel, if you work in certain fields after serving in the Israel Defense Forces for more than half a year. Working in petrol stations, hotels, etc. qualify thus many of the petrol station attendants are young adults fresh out of serving in the IDF.

Dor is horrible, only truck drivers go there. There is no members card for Dor. There is no highway called the Derech Tel-Aviv, try again. People do drive without courtesy in Israel. Also, some city infrastruction was not built with cars in mind (ie Jerusalem, Jaffa) so driving in them is very difficult. The Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv municipalities are trying to get as many cars off the streets as possible by building lite trains (sp?).

    Main shirt sponsors:
Ashdod Sport Club - Y. H. Damari Real Estate
Beitar Jerusalem - Hot Cable Systems
Bnei Sakhnin - Mia'ari Shipping and Handling
    Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv - Strauss-Elite Group
    Hapoel Be'er Sheva - Kia
    Hapoel Haifa - (None)
    Hapoel Kfar Saba - LG
    Hapoel Petah Tikva - Xerox
    Hapoel Ramat Gan - haMa'ager
    Hapoel Tel-Aviv - Keter Plastics
    Maccabi Ahi Nazareth - Yara
    Maccabi Haifa - Honda
    Maccabi Herzliya - (None)
    Maccabi Netanya - Bezeq Telecomunications
    Maccabi Petah Tikva - Fujitsu
    Maccabi Tel-Aviv - Bezeq Telecomunications

As you can see there is no Isuzu sponsor in Ligat ha'Al. I am pretty sure that they sponsor a lower league team that wears red.

Okay, just that in one post you put that you are a naturalized American and in another post you put that you have never been to Scotland so I got confused.

I never filled up gas. But Abba sheli did! I was there along the time, getting from one place to the other. I just remembered all the time, he used to go up to the cash, pay 1st and then fill up. Here (in you know where) you can fill up and then pay. Its nicer and easier i guess.

I never knew about the whole government lending a hand to people who worked in Gas stations. But then again, its not the place where u want to work. Its mostly a kids jobs, but then again, in israel, not many kids do work..do they? 16...17..18?

    Kvish 6?
Im not sure...but anyway, its a highway and its close to Bat Yam/Holon area. We got a little lost there. Im not sure if i should define it as a highway, but it did look nice however.

Its called a subway! But i think there gonna go on a light train idea. But a lighttrain is a subway, so i don't know what there plan is. Either way, its kinda confusing, becuase you have the huge train system already operational in Israel which crosses tel aviv. I wouldn't mind seeing Light trains go to Tel aviv and around the Tel Dan Region...and be near a train station..it would be very nice and appealing..

    what happened to OPEL :(

Many children in Israel work. This is due to the fact that 30% of children in Israel live in poverty.

You are probably refering to the Ayalon Freeway. Route 6 is nowhere near Tel-Aviv and I don't that you have been on it because you need a special toll paying device in your car and the rental companies in Israel do not have them.

The train is going to be within the city not for travel between cities. Also the region is called the Dan Region not the Tel Dan Region.

Hopefully they will finish the new highway, the new train systems and the new terminal at Ben Gurion International Airport within 2004.

They did not renew their deal with Hapoel Haifa. The team is in financial disarray while being one of the leaders for promotion.

Thats why i want to help out...give an outreach for the povery in israel! I just never hardly saw many kids working in malls and stuff. It was mostly college/army/university students!

ooo so thats the Ayalon...so the one that is from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem..hmmm ;) Now i know!! It was nice seeing the israeli infrastructure at its best when i was in israel! I needed a train north, so i was in Merkaz Tel Aviv station. It was nice an all, kinda open and stuff and when you walked to it, you can see Ramat Gan business district which was nice and then you can see the ayalon and some of Tel aviv...not a bad place..
But then when you walk out, you are herassed by 70 Taxi Drivers who ask you "NEED A RIDE"....

Wouldn't be a bad idea afterall........ Just how many stations would u do? There is a subway station in Haifa, with only what...6 stops and there all close to one another..
That is more pathetic than that cirlcle things in Haifa, where u go on top of a mountin and go down from it. It is sooo 80's....

Hopefully they will finish the new highway, the new train systems and the new terminal at Ben Gurion International Airport within 2004.

That sucks! Hopefully when there back, they can drop the Diadora look. Go with some KAPPA and sign a deal with Opel or Dhiatsu... and even get Dudu Awatt back!!
