Sorry if this thread exists, I haven't seen it. What do we need to average to get over 16000 for the season? Word on the street is expect 35,000 + for the LA game at the Rosebowl.
Is that from the same guy selling dime bags on the corner of Hollywood & Vine? 35,000 would be something. The Spirit ladies must really draw 'em in.
A lot. Actually if MLS somehow managed to average 22,824 over its last 11 games it would break that 16,000 mark. And if you guys in LA can pull in 35,000 for your final home game, then the other teams will only need to average 21,607 over the remaining 10 games for MLS to have a season average of 16,000.
D.C. United at MetroStars = 17k San Jose at Los Angeles= 20k Chicago at Columbus=24k MetroStars at D.C. United=15k Colorado at Kansas City =16k New England at Dallas =17k
SRO already in Columbus. It's amazing what a little promotion does, too bad they didn't do that for our open cup game last night.
Re: Re: Attendance week 26 Damn you know him as well? I have no way to confirm that, but someone on the lars board said thats what the ticket office told him, so who knows. Not only is it the women, it's the last home game of the season, it's again the smurfquacks, and it's youth night. I hope it does pan out. What would that push our average attendance to?
Is LA even playing in the Rose Bowl this weekend. I thought they were forced to go to Fullerton for the remainder of the year. Let me know if I'm wrong on this
I hope all those big attendance numbers pan out. If so, it will be actual and factual proof that 8 teams in the playoffs does not depress attendance figures for "meaningless" regular season games.
columbus will pan out attendance wise. they are almost sold out (down to standing room only) and the weather looks good that night...should be a great atmosphere for the game...
As far as the Quakes v. Galaxy goes, maybe more people follow the Supporter's Shield race than anyone would have guessed.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Attendance week 26 I don't know why Detroit would want a soon to be defunct A-league squad. (sniff)
LA have promoted the heck out of this match. The Landon/Cobi matchup is being played up as well as the thing before the main event. Seems the majority of the tix seem to be going to AYSO kids.
Are the AYSO kids actually buying the tix, or do they get them in some kind of giveaway/deal/whatever? Anyway, should be an electric night at the Rose Bowl. For those sitting in the expensive seats, check out the glow of the mountains about 10 minutes into the first half. Phenomenal. A gorgeious amber red. Beautiful setting for a soccer match. Will be missed when they move to beautiful downtown - *cough, cough* - Carson.
No, I'm hearing group sales and been working their butts off lately. There have been a good number of AYSO groups there lately and I guess this one has been extra good cuz of the warm up act. (for the record, I won't be watching the girls match) Errr....KO is at 8 this week. Sun will be down by then. < /pedantic mode >
I'd prefer to be MLS's first Chick Hearn. He didn't really get started with Laker broadcasting 'til around the age of 40 (I think), so there's still hope!
D.C. United at MetroStars = 19000 San Jose at Los Angeles= 38000 Chicago at Columbus=24000 MetroStars at D.C. United=24000 if they win thursday, 16000 if they lose Colorado at Kansas City =21000 New England at Dallas =17000
At this point, DC fans are too numb to change our behavior based on how they're playing...we'll drag ourselves there regardless!
