What with the Welsh "B" team showing up and an experimental USA squad to play against them and not much advertising for the match and a "return home" monday after a holiday to play on, what do you think the attendance will be for the game? Will we break the 15,000 mark or will it be another embarrassing turn out?

    Those tickets are expensive!

    12k was my vote.

13,013. I think the tickets were to pricey to get the family crowd. Plus a night game on the last day of a weekend will also help keep the younger kids away.

Bless those of you who voted in the 20,000 range. We can only hope. Wish I was that optimistic. I said 12,000, but I really hope that would be doubled.

I'm amazed at the comments that the tickets are pricey. I wish the front office wasn't about to read this, but I'm sure some one there will. I'll say it anyway:

Quake fans are spoiled! by the price they pay for tickets. My tickets are $10 a piece. Go compare prices that you'd pay for similar tickets elsewhere. They are much higher!

So, though these tickets were substantially more than a Quakes game, they are still not by any means expensive.

I predict 7500 American fans will show up like normal MLS games, plus extra 500 Welch fans. Total attendance will be a little over 8000.

I just voted 12K or less.

I'm basing this on the media 'blitz' that has the USMNT all over the airwaves and press.

    :(

I think the Quakes prices are reasonable.

    (start rant)

This case, however, my tickets that are normally $14 were $35, same seats. And what I'm paying for is a US Men's B Team vs. Wales B Team in a friendly. Since this is the end of the season in Europe, the Welsh are going to be on vacation mode, so yes, I think these tickets are very expensive.

This is not a World Cup match, nor a World Cup qualifier. This is not the Sacramento Kings, sold out for the past 15 years, nor the 49ers. The main reason why I'm going is because I want to see the US Men's team play in the Bay Area when the games count for something. Also, can't wait to see all the Quakes and former Quakes play for the Nats.

    (end rant)

I have to agree. 45.00 dollars to watch the US men's "C" team and the Wales "B" team play is too damn much. In the future I'll wait until the teams roster is announced before I buy my tickets. And to those of you who think that you're getting better than the USMNT "C" squad, think again, they were beaten by our Earthquakes, enough said.

Well, I think attendance is gonna suck.

But I have no problem with the price I paid to see this game. I still think it wasn't "expensive" by any means. More than a Quake game (which I think is cheap), but still not expensive. I guess that's just my opinion though. I guess it's relative to the value you place on seeing this game.

I now have an extra ticket. If you know of anyone who needs one (it's 10 bucks), just tell me at the tailgate.

I think we'll be lucky to break 12,000. It could even be worse, given the prices.

Though I will go so as not to be a hypocrite.

Looks like we were lucky. :)

Sure seemed more than 12,000 (or whatever the official number was).

For those who attended the opening day double-headed, how did this crowd compare?

I agree. Seemed like 14k at least.
