Does anyone expect us to get over 10,000? With the prices of tickets combined with relative lack of promotion and a cold Thursday night I'd be pretty suprised.
$18 for a northend seat isn't what fans are used to, but it is a championship game combined with buck-a-brat.
it looks like 8k tops. the marketing department has kind of made some strange decisions with this one.
This is more like it. It is amazing how easily people forget the marketing power of cheap brats! If I were on the "Price is Right", I would go ahead and bid 17,501. Attendence will be higher than expected!!
Let x=5 and you are predicting 18,831 people (maybe 1 or 2 more). I like how you think!! However, if you didn't want x to be 5, you still predict a minimum of 7,113 people -- still a respectible crowd. Maybe there is a reason to DrunkSteve's ramblings...
When I talk to roadrunner customers I try to see if they go to Crew games. Only one so far even knows who they are.
Thats cause roadrunner customers have roadrunner so they can look up ineternet porn, they do very little else.
did anyone else get a phone call from alexi lalas today "daring" you to come to the open cup and prevent the galaxy from winning the double?
They really can't be blamed. USSF has really handcuffed them and prevented The Crew from promoting the game how they wanted to.
Can't the crew just say "F you" and go all out blitzing the city with newsletters, radio ads, postcards, etc.???
if they want to take that marketing hit yes...the only income the crew gets is from renting the stadium......
I got the Lalas message on my machine. I thought it was pretty good, but I expect Lalas to shine in situations where personality and humor are required; he seems like a good guy in that regard. I liked how he asked Crew fans to send a special greeting to him during introductions and I laughed when he gave the ticket office phone number slow for us Crew fans. I don't want to see the treble achieved at our stadium by someone else.
hey, I used roadrunner.........saw the porn sites and I know who the crew are........i'm a smart MOFO
I'm pretty sure Craig Mertz, in one of his articles in the last week or so said the Crew was told by USSF they couldn't do certain advertising things. The Crew were trying to treat the game as just another home game, but USSF just sees CCS as a venue hosting the game which the Crew happen to be playing in.
