Yup. As soon as Doogs said this is ending up 0-0 I said to myself no it is not. The Uruguayans will probably score. Seen this movie way too many times. Look like crap most of the game then find a way to beat or draw Colombian clubs.
Didn't know there was a price for the 3rd in the group. Now I understand the urgency to win for the uruguayan nacional.
Nacional have gone from good to shit. Lacked intensity in the second half and are not matching the games tempo falling into that trap that most colombian teams fall into when they focus so hard on possession based football.
would anyone happen to know what happens to the 2nd placed teams in the group? they get tougher teams I assume
In theory. Play a First place team. But sometimes Groups are not as tough as other Groups so you never know.
What a clumsy a-hole. Was that merino? How can you waste a one on one with the gk by heeling the ball. He certainly didn't look worth 8 million there.
I think that is the case but I don't know if there is predecible matches between groups, such as Group A 1 vs Group B 2, or if there is sorting involved
Game ended 1-0, we suck and Nacional of Uruguay ends up 4th so no Sudamericana. Awful for both. Edit: Our coaching has been bad too. And we play like crap on most of our second halves. I don't think we survive next round. And I don't even know who we play.
America was worse playwise, but Nacional was equally wasteful. Nacional can at least hold ball possession even if they don't create much danger. America is more direct but can not hold ball possession as well.
All depends on who they bring in for reinforcements and who leaves for bigger clubs abroad. I am generally not pessimistic about this draw though. Finishing second kinda helps cause they can go all out to win the first game in el Atanasio and then play more defensive in Brasil.
hope they do well but they have an old ass team. Marino gets sold hopefully they dont waste most of that money on older garbage players. would you guys be more confident in this team if the Mexican was still in charge?
