Reports are swirling that Nacional is trying to sign Stefan Medina. Add him to the list old Nacional Players coming home. (Ospina, Cardona, Campuzano, Uribe, etc.)
Let's see how Nacional comes out tonight. I am sure Bahia will be prepared for them and will play more defensively than Internacional did. Let's see how they adjust.
I am going to the stadium today . It has been a while. I was still boycotting the front office, but I got tickets so what the hell I do love going to the stadium. It is a dump. But it is our dump.
Pretty much the same lineup except one key change... ...Chipi Chipi Castillo? What the? Is Ospina injured?
frustrating game, team is locked down, very very hard to break down. on the other hand, Nacional look great recovering the ball, its almost instant. But not enough clarity in the final end of the field
Really crappy ball control by arce, letting it bounce over and over. That supposed handball is ridicolous, it doesn't change direction in the slightest and there is no intention at all. But OMG, these VAR-checks really has to be sped up. This is totally impractical. Almost 10 minutes looking at a damn goal.
I think it should be only for calls that are easily observable, if its something as miniscule as this that requires a whole squad of refs and intense analytical work then it isn't worth calling, just leave it.
anyway, massive win because this sends Nacional to 1st place. In a group as tight as this its a big deal, the final game is against Nacional in Uruguay which imo are the weakest team in the group and whom they already crushed, a win in Uruguay would be ideal but I believe a draw could be enough to go through
Ideal would be a draw between Nacional (uruguay) and internacional tomorrow. With that result atletico nacional will go through regardless of what happens in the last round.
I hope so!. That second half was painfully bad. But we won! I am gurgling aguardiente right now so it is a fine day!
Yeah the game was really bad... but the atmosphere was good. Most of the stadium was into it. This was at the start of the game and there was a lot of people outside still.
Great view, with the mountains in the background. Too bad the seating doesn't get close to the pitch all the way around. These stadiums with running tracks aren't as nice as football-specific ones.
I hate that too. But Most stadiums were built by the cities, not the teams, so they had to accomodate other sports. But now only football and concerts are made there. This stadium needs to be destroyed, it is old but not well mantained, we are not talking about Old Trafford here. It has very few entrances, so you have to be there HOURS before kickoff. It is cramped, if it rains the seats and councurses get waterloged. Restrooms are a mess. The roof covers nothing but the very top of the seats. The only thing I like is the curved design. I would pay more taxes to destroy that dump and erect a modern stadium. It doesn't have to be one of the jewels of the United states that has too many bells and whistles. A good stadium, with modern amenities and great sightlines could be the best. I would love for something like this , this or this.
Those three are very nice stadiums. Brazil has got some money these days for improvements. Another one that I have been impressed with, since I watch a fair amount of Romanian footie, is the new national stadium used by Bucharest-based clubs, here.
With Internacional win yesterday we are still #1 and no matter what happens next we are through. Lets see how the Round of 16 goes. Looking at the table .. Palmeiras are destroying everyone right now. Heavy favourites to win this thing
yes, im not sure how the next round works I believe its the usual 1st placed team plays the 2nd place team etc. But I think what makes it different is the top 2 teams are drawn randomly (I think) so if thats true then it could be anyone, who knows
Nacional going for the win tonight even though they are already qualified. Starting the usual suspects at almost every position.
