The third goal, watch the replay, he wasn’t even looking anywhere in the area of the ball. He was anticipating the collision.

And the one when garcia ran him over he came out tentatively and in poor position. That had nothing to do with 11-10. That was just crap goalkeeping.

    This.
I saw the line up and my youngest son looked at my face's reaction and he began to giggle. I was caught between utter disbelief and at the same time horror.
Garcia? At right back Wilmer?!? C'mon hombre!
Then Ceren and Hairston. With Tommy Mac up top. Sheeet.
Still, the boys found Elis early on and if Hairston wasn't a bone bag in orange then who knows what the night unfolds into when we go up early 1-nil.
    But no.
A minute later and Mr. Sensitive reds our best player and the torpedoed ship is going down in a fiery mess!!! Err!
Atlanta likes to claim a lot in Southern culture. Earning MLS Cup champions is one thing. Beating us 5-0 is a whole nother thing!
Wilmer gets no more passes. He must step down.

Here is the thing, like 2 days before the game he was saying we need to "get more aggressive on the road". How is benching Quioto and starting Garcia doing that?

I totally agree with you, if Hairston puts it in this game goes completely in another direction. Even though we only saw 6 minutes, the attack looked decent.

I don't regret telling Jordan in May he has done a good job with this team, this year.

The next time I see him, I will tell him he is pussy footing around keeping WC as our coach. His line ups make no sense and words don't make action....

If I am any coach, I see Garcia at right back I immediately make the change to overload him until my guy gets tired, sub him out and continue it.

Based on what I saw last night -- and I have only watched the first half and then paused it for the time being and found better things to do -- not sure if he should. They were getting goals on very simply route 1 runs off crosses. We were showing basic tracking or marking deficits. Surely a bunkering team can find people to mark.

Struck me as a half hearted in between effort to do so. We have weaker people to throw a game we were likely to lose, in favor of the weekend. We semi tried and in the process lost Elis for the more pointable contest.

I thought it was a reflection of his team status plus the idiotic lineup where he's a winger not the striker and gets to watch Hairston whiff twice on a silver platter cross like he's surprised passes come to the striker. It's no excuse but I am getting annoyed with people literally on the doorstep not punching balls in. Those are not even technique necessarily, it's guts and willpower. Am I willing to risk a knock to put a goal in where I will certainly get crunched. When they had their chances they were emphatic.

There is a list of such Jordan gifts. He just wins the Alvarez Prize for this season, 0G 0A playing with this bunch.

    Other let downs:
    MacNamara (1G all year)
    Lundkvist
    Fuenmayor
    AJ
    Boniek (1A all year)
Duvall (and then we sign another RB after)
    Pena
    Salazar
    Beasley
    on and on

even some of the kids it's like, every other team we play seems to have some teenage wunderkind. Why are all ours RGV-bait.

Figueroa started strong but has tailed off, but give some credit for that. Vera, to me, just ok. Cabezas was good for a period so he's not on the diss list but that seems to be heading towards the end a la Camargo.

The coach has lost them. The defensive shape is gone, the talented attackers unmotivated, the bench rotation people sloppy and second rate. The body language is crap and the results poor. On another team this kind of form run accompanied by indiscipline and indifference of the players, would be the end.

I saw the shame of it all as an upset player blowing the future games to let off steam about what was bound to be a dog. And if it becomes 2 or more suspension.....

Personally I had no problem with them shall we politely say rotating this game among the schedule, and if anything we tried too hard with people we might want this weekend., and cost ourselves Elis (his fault too, but even this way he would be that much more tired for the winnable game) I was befuddled by specific choices eg Garcia at all, Hairston instead of Elis central, the unwillingness to go bunker 451 while tanking. But to me this was not the game to test whether you can win away, or even to try very hard.

We have the cheapest and one of the worst rosters in MLS.

If everyone is healthy we can put out an average MLS XI. That rarely happens though and we probably the worst depth in the league. Hard to imagine worst depth than ours.

We are a sh*t club with a sh*t roster. It is what it is.

the reasons to get rid of cabrera are obvious, poor result run, and it's like the goals for dried up long ago -- have been sitting in the high 20s for weeks I think -- and we hit a GA gusher. GC isn't his fault but the way we look and act now is. last night was basically a burned game in hand but we are wrong side of the line with a veteran team that may be disassembled, so now or never. to me you do it now to send a message and then re-boot back home for 3 games, the first of which should be treated like a glorified friendly.

i expect us to fart around. we treat this like a business and not a sports team. "but his contract." even a more dynamic view of "business" would look at a poor team under a coach known to the league to be disliked, and think about what that would do to ticket sales and season tickets and the bottom line over time. just look at all the people moaning on FB about no ST renewal. ok, how much is cabrera going to cost us. that math may work out different than you think.

business isn't always that specific line item but the lines it might also affect. a jerk employee who drives off more sales than their supposed store of veteran knowledge brings you, etc.

With all due respect -- this is harsh. Garcia has to go behind Deric there. In both instances the defense is just shambolic -- especially Struna. On the Martinez header I don't think any GK can deal with that situation.

More than anything, I continue to not be able to really assess the players because the defensive structure and scheme is so poor.

I regret every individual from you, to Brener, to every fan who can't see the quality of the job Jordan is doing. It dumbfounds me. It has been obvious since year 1 of his tenure here.

jordan has gotten a few people right, but it's a batting average job. it's how many hits for how many swings. the supporting cast (eg Martinez, Willis, starting backs) are poor and then the bench is a waste of space. these are all his people. there are no more kinnear or coyle legacies.

plus, in evaluating the few successes, it appears most (save manotas) are simply reading down a honduran national team roster. but for that gimmick this would be a horrifying disaster. as it stands we have made the playoffs once in his tenure, two years ago, and before that it's years to Kinnear's last playoff team.

and you cannot be this wasteful on a moneyball team. the recent weeks have exposed the lack of quality depth which is a function of his efforts. it's basically if we don't have the hondurans, haha. and they are almost without fail his choices too.

Even the one's where Jordan/Cabrera hit -- like Elis, Manotas, Vera, Cabezas -- I would argue they are not good enough to be your best players on your team. Not in this league anymore.

Having said that, I really don't know what they hell these players are in this wacked out system they play. (I guess I keep saying that ... I apologize for that.)

BTW -- to return to the actual soccer on hand.

Was anyone else a bit surprised at the no call not ever VAR review of the Quito takedown from behind in the box at the start of the second half?

I'm not sure I'd even give him Cabezas. One good year doesn't mean a lot. A lost year last year, and guy can't even get off the bench this year.

But if your metrics are playoffs, Jordan has failed there. If it is buy young talent and sell at a profit, so far that is a failure as well.

As someone who grew up watching all of Houston's sports teams, I learned decades ago to expect slack officiating when our city is playing. Certianly towards any reversal of calls that help our players out. If we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all!
I balance this thorn in a Houston sports man's side with our incredibly attractive women in town and our kick ass food!

Cabezas got nailed by injuries. That happens. No one's fault. (Lack of quality depth behind is a fault.)

I don't consider playoffs acceptable. 2017 for me was unacceptable. The team was never going to win the Cup. No one short term result defines success. What I want is to be competitive more often than not.

Under the new system the standard has to be top 4 finish or its an unacceptable year. Sometimes those happen for reasons outside your control. The current strategy of the Dynamo I doubt will ever produce a top 4 finish.

As do you no argument. I was really not trying to cast aspersions on you but on Mr. Jordan and those who don’t hold him accountable.

based on what I was seeing at the beginning of the season it was warranted to give him a pat on the pack. We looked good and were playing good. Now we look like hot trash and I am going to let him know
