Well, Gonzo is one of my favorite Muppets. ... In all seriousness this appears a good, safe bet. What he lacks in direct HC experience he surely makes up for in his familiarity of MLS, both as a league and a man behind roster mgmt. He also by all accounts is someone who is much appreciated and builds a good rapport with everyone else in the locker room. That should help as they transition from Valentino (who is being held on) to Pineda. Color me pleased. Much rather this than another swing for the fences with someone ill-equipped for the peculiarities of MLS.
Welcome Gonzalo Pineda. Hopefully he can turn this ship around, since he knows the league he should be able to make an immediate impact. Also nice to have a coach fluent in English again.
