BIESLA RESIGNS... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...bilbao-manager-marcelo-bielsa-resigns?cc=5901
We brought back Aduriz from Valencia. Good back up for Llorente. Also, if you want some detail on the Bielsa altercation, and a pretty good summation of his first year, check here. http://afootballreport.com/post/27823466104/bilbao-wasnt-built-in-a-day-part-one I do not agre with all of it, but it does highlight where Athletic struggled last year. Too often we were caught on the counter, and adjusting our play to minimize that should be Bielsa's top priority. Still hopeful for Champions League place, but Valencia and Sevilla have both been pretty active on the transfer market this year. How high we finish depends on how quickly our young players mature, and what adjustments Bielsa is willing to make to his beloved system.
Athletic Bilbao dominated the shots and corner kicks but only managed a 1:1 draw at home to Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona of Israel in the Europa League.
Terrible start to the season.. Javi Martinez fiasco.. Bielsa's pride and stubbornness.. on the other hand, we have a lot of depth.. And talks of Benat coming back to Bilbao soon. Also a lot of talks of Catalunya Independence.. which means, Euskadi Independence!!! lol Domino effect, if Catalunya get freed from the "clutches" of Spain, that mans they would almost HAVE TO free Euskadi too.
Gurpegi a starter in the back!!???!!!??? WTF!!!! ADURIZ???? WHERES EL LEON!!!!!!!!!! FFS! UNACCEPTABLE TO LOSE TO OUR LITTLE BROTHERS!!!
