I read in a Bola today that RTPi will not show the top soccer games at all. Portuguesse league games will be available only on Sport TV (at least ALL Benfica, Porto and Sporting games).

This however may not be final, there is hope that the Government may interfere.

I blame the Dish for not going after the portuguese package, instead some restaurant owner in Newark own's the rights for the portuguese games

Seabra, right? I think he owns a satellite station, SPT, which has the rights to Sports TV and the SuperLiga games in North America.

In Canada with Bell ExpressVu, you can get the Superliga package on PPV (kind of like NFL Sunday Ticket) and all the games are from SporTV.

Most of the games are on satellite. You can see them at Portuguese clubs in the area. Call around.
