Score an early goal and you never know. Alisson Trent Konate Virgil Robertson MacAllister Szobo Salah Jota Gakpo Diaz Hold Nunez back as impact sub.
Salah has been so bad as of late - not sure if he should start. But if we are going all out - guess so.
One of my lowest moments as a Liverpool fan was in the 18/19 season after losing 3-0 away to Barcelona and then seeing Vincent Kompany blast a shot into the top corner against Leicester. A season that had been so brilliant and showed so much promise looked like it was going to end with nothing to show for it. I feel like this season is at a similar moment. Let’s hope this one swings back the other way like that one did. It doesn’t have to be Thursday night in Italy. It could be getting new life in the league. We just need something special to happen, because Klopp’s last season can’t just fizzle out so easily.
So, can we score 4 without them answering. Can we score 3 go to ET possibly PKs We did it against Barca but we were on our own sod. All will be revealed termorrer. The heart is trying to overcome the head on this and the remaining games of the season.
Liverpool travelling squad: Alisson, Gomez, Endo, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Adrian, Jones, Gakpo, Elliott, Jota, Tsimikas, Robertson, Gravenberch, Clark, McConnell, Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Danns, Quansah.
In all fairness, Sixth in Serie A which is a pretty poor league atm. Again if we come out like we have in the past with fire in our bellies and ready to go to war for our Manager there's no reason we cant overturn this... They're not Madrid or City or Munich or Milan...Its Atalanta FFS!!!!!!!! Stop feeling sorry for yourselves(that we deserved more from OT games) and just go play some heavy metal football... Dortmund and PSG showed the way... Put your chests out Were Liverpool FC and let's get this Done. YNWA.
Call it convenient amnesia but I'm feeling a little more hopeful of this fixture. Being away from home (away from the majority of the spectators being super nervous) might be a blessing in disguise. Get an early goal and all bets are off. Get a 2nd before the last 10 minutes and anything is possible. The tide will turn and they could implode. Getting that early goal and tightening up defensively is everything. Even if we lose the tie but win on the day, it could be vital in getting us out of our funk and ready to give the league hell again on Sunday. Or we could give up another idiotic early goal and have to suffer through the remaining 80+ minutes of useless horseshit.
They've got the highest UEFA coefficient. They're doing something right. They just don't have a super team like citeh or real or bayern at the moment, but it is a quality league.
if they can beat us 0-3 we can beat them 1-4. we have the firepower to pull off a big win. It certainly needs a bit of fine tuning right now - but why not tune up in Bergamo..... pretend we're in one of those Italian Car Factories! We'll have a go....
would love to see us play with conviction, intensity, and preciseness that has been missing for a while. A big win and great play will put us back on track. Another dismal display and we'll know the players are toast and the season is all but over.
A 3 goal deficit is not impossible but I think we'd have to be almost perfect today to get there. Also think Jota is the key if we're to do it. Hopefully he starts and is on his game today.
