Well, we have to admit that the Fire (8 points) are last in the league and (ughh) Columbus is top of the league on 23 points. This is too depressing to consider. This is a "home" game for the Fire, as it is being played at Soldier Field. Will "home field/pitch advantage" overcome the fact that the Columbus has nearly three times as many points as the Fire? Oh, god, I sadly don't care.
At least our municipality isn’t named for a murderous, child enslaving, syphilitic monster who couldn’t sail for shit, and even though our team name is not that great, at least we didn’t use the name of our soccer team to double down on the mythology that we got our shitty town name from. Damn, it’s really bad when I have nothing at all to say relative to the game. I mean, we’re getting curb-stomped today, our best chance at not losing 21-0 is for lightning. Of course I’ll be watching, and of course I’ll be wearing another one of my half dozen Fire jerseys in hopes that this one -this one right here- is the “lucky” one the team has been waiting for me to throw on so they can finally show up for more than half of a game. Ugh.
If it wasn't raining out I don't think I would have watched the game. But it's raining out so maybe I'll watch the game. In other news I think I'm going to support Peter Wilt's new project.
I'm not optimistic about this game and I will probably watch it but the last two have been snoozefests of pointless passing between the center backs. I don't know why Djordie is in the doghouse but he needs to be out there somewhere in my opinion. Things have been a tick better in the midfield linkage when he's out there. Otherwise I expect more of the same from this one...oh and I had to finally start a damn diet. Sucks all the way around. Too much quarantine eating and drinking.
The rumor is Djordie is actually starting? EDIT: Is it going to storm? https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/chicago-il/60608/weather-radar/348308
Just bought the best beer I've ever had. But, I'll cast my vote. WGN should keep this Justin Long show on. Where's the fire?
Univision. That was my mistake. I saw WGN, but should have confirmed. Sorry It is NOT on ESPN+, either. MODS: If you could put the balls down for a moment and fix the title of the thread, I would appreciate it. If not EVERYBODY IT IS ON UNIVISION.
It's not 66.6? Also nostalgic about malort jello shots on the bus to Columbus. Best part of the trip well maybe popeyes. Wow maybe I should go to Columbus to see if it really is that bad
So, in 10 games the Fire have given up 16 goals. Not absolutely terrible, but pretty crappy. Cowlumbus? 2 goals against in 10 games. The "Crew" have scored 16 goals to the Fire's 9. Yes, they have a .2 GAA and +14 GD in 10 games.
By the way, the Houston - North Carolina NWSL game is on CBS (real CBS). Kristin Mewis (NC forward) came damn close to scoring directly on the corner, forcing a Houston save, then a terrific collision between in the box.
McConaughey barely speaks English. You expect him to speak Spanish, as well? By the way, he does speak Spanish. Not particularly well, but he speaks is conversant. I found a discussion between him and Canelo Alvarez.
