Congrats to the Post for their best coverage of the year. Photo of Kramer getting beat on the front page, 2 big photos inside and 2 articles on the game! Great stuff, maybe all those emails to the editor paid off. Now if only the photos could be of Rapids players scoring...
Inside the Nuggets section there was a big article on Nene Hilario (sp?) the big Brazilian power forward the Nuggets got on draft day trade. So it was a little ironic, big coverage on American soccer players and Brazilian basketball players. Hopefully for the Rapids and the Nuggets, this is a trend that continues. As American soccer and its players get better and more popular in demonstrating the beauitiful game, so do foreign basketball players who have been coached in bizarre ethics like hustle and teamwork.
As a side note, there have been huge amounts of radio ads too. At least on KBCO. Although the guy that does the scores some afternoons keeps calling it MSL, that's two weeks in a row I've heard the guy call it MSL.
I don't suppose you know (err "understand") whether they actually sent what-his-name to the game, or if he is a local LA stringer?
The Rapids staff were saying at the Croc's party that the Post had actually sent what's his name, the new guy covering the Rapids, following Kevin Coleman's departure.
On that note, I happen to know Paul Willis, the (mostly preps) writer for the News who did the article about Ruiz on Thursday. He's also a part-time bartender at the Gilpin Casino.
