How strange life is. This is tragic news. May he rest in peace!

Davide Astori was the man of the match last week against Chievo!

Some wonderful things written about him, he was a real gentleman and leader for both his peers and young players. Devastating for the family and Fiorentina as a club.

Sad news. Too many players died. Probably they all ignore the first signs, thinking that everything would be just fine.

Renato Curi, Piermario Morosini, with many other players.

Inappropriate expressions of Dani Alves, after all he played with Astori in Serie A.

Really bummed about this, such a nice guy. I was in Italy in 2012 when Piermario Morosini from Livorno died on the field, me and my uncle were watching it live on tv. Life is simply just not fair at times. Great gesture by Fiorentina renewing his contract to take care of his family, very classy.

Astori's funeral mass will be held at Chiesa Di Santa Croce.

He is to be buried in Florence and not his home town in Bergamo?

His goal against Uruguay is visible in the second video.

It's worth to mention that he had the number 13 in his clubs. He scored 1 for Pizzighettone, 3 for Cagliari, 1 for Roma, 3 for Fiorentina, 1 for Italy. He was born in 1st month, he died in 3rd month, in his 31st year. His first and second name: Davide Giacomo have 13 letters. Matter of 1 and 3.
Area of his birthplace San Giovanni Bianco has 31km2.
He had the number 4 (1+3) in Italian NT, he played 4 (1+3) matches for U18 team, he died on (1+3) 4th March (3)
He played 14 matches for his NT, he scored one goal. 14-1=13. I don't follow these things, but for some reason I noticed the beginning elements.
Stadio Artemio Franchi was opened on 13th September 1931

When I read his biography, I noticed his previous clubs and the usual saying that number 13 is unlucky. Strange coincidence.

ACF Fiorentina - 13 letters in this name.
    FIGC was founded in March.

Club nicknames: Viola, Gigliati - both words have 13 letters.
Fiorentina is the only team in Serie A with +3 goal difference. 35-32
He scored his goal for Italy in 2013, Confederation Cup 2013.
    Italy won the 3rd position.
The stadium where he scored his goal, Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova, was opened in 2013. year.
The match against Uruguay started at 13h, 1PM.
De Sciglio was the third player who took the penalty attempt and he missed.
    In year 2011 he made 1 NT appearance, in 2012 also 1, in 2015 1, in 2016 3, in 2017 1.
Pizzighettone - his first club, 13 letters.
City of Udine, where he died has 13 degree longitude.
    Elevation of Udine - 113 m.
    Postal Code: 33100
Coordinates of the Stadio Friulli: 13.200136°E
Address of Stadio Friulli: P.le Rep. Argentina 3
Address of Stadio A. Franchi, Viale Manfredo Fanti 4, his NT number. Four comes from 1+3.

For sure, it's silly to analyse the numerology, not proven in scientific way, but in certain ways, the number 13 or seperately 1 and 3 were attached to him. Really silly to observe such things. Seems rather spooky.

People in Roman Catholic countries of Southern Europe like the number 13, because it's the day of St. Antonio di Padova, 13th June. Maybe the reason why he picked this number.

Interesting thing from my life, I passed my driving exam on Friday 13th.

The number 13 is a lucky one in Italy and it is due to the feast day of St. Anthony of Padua.

I don't believe in such things. They belong in one of those trivial categories.
You experienced some similar things. New chapter for Fiorentina, imagine how is in their society, during training, they all see each other and expect their captain. No matter how people must be rational, it's hard to just continue with their lives.

People say that the number 11 is unhappy and 22 means double unhappiness 11+11.

I mentioned this in post from above. St. Antonio is also well respected in Croatia, among Croats of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Saint Ante they name him. A lot of churches, parishes carry the name of St. Antonio or St. John (24th June). That's why the June is specific month among Croats. Franciscan Order is also very important (OFM).

    Zagreb: http://www.sv-antun.hr

    Pula: http://www.biskupija-porecko-pulska...jna-misa-zupa-sv-antuna-padovanskog-pula.html

    https://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samostan_i_crkva_sv._Antuna_u_Puli

Even societies of St. Antonio were formed:

    Franciscans: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franciscan_Church_and_Monastery_(Dubrovnik)

    https://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franjevački_samostan_i_crkva_sv._Antuna_Padovanskog_u_Koprivnici

Basically, every person with names Ante, Anto, Antun, Antonio are connected with this saint. Ante Rebic - ex Fiorentina player.
