Off to the greatness of the midlands!!! At first i thought of this game as a possible banana skin, BUT, this one is ours for the taking..

Sure Angel has been impressive of late, and O'leary has his boys going full throttle (like the leeds days), but that defense is certainly dodgy and I really see a 3-1 win.. something along those lines..

suppose i don't have to mention that i hope we have Edu starting and what is the injury situation with Toure?

    Henry Kanu

    Pires Vieira Edu Ljungberg

    Glichy Sol Toure Lauren

damn, i guess that is a pretty solid lineup...

lets get em.. anyone going to this game? I didn't get tix but will be in Birmingham.. trying to get some from a buddy who is a villa supporter..

    You beat me to it.

What is this world coming to? I'm slipping.

3-1 to The Arsenal. Pires, Henry, and Kanu put the ball in the back of the net. I know Villa is improving, but we need to smack them back down to Earth.

    Go Gunners!

every time i read these 3-1 scorelines and the like i get nervous. not saying i want anything but all 3 points but anything can happen. you never know what type of mood the team is in. if they come to play or we walk through the game doing just enough for 3 points.

I wonder with the rumors about Angel possibly coming to Arsenal on Transfer this summer whether J.P.A. will use this game as an audition. I think this will be a tough one for us, 2-1 victory for the gunners.

Big Game Tomorrow to go up to the top . . . I'm kinda nervous though it's hard to say which team is going to show up especially when Wenger's said that Henry needs a break and our strike force is decimated. Aston Villa appears to be going through some good form as well. Chelsea also plays tomorrow so a win by Chelsea will get them back into the race.

An Arsenal win will do lots for psyche so I'm thinking the boys will be hungry for a win . . . gotta take advantage of this "turnover" provided by the Wolves!

We do not need a win to go top tommorrow, but we NEED a win to send a message to ManU and Chelsea, that we are not only better but hungrier than either of them. This is an Opportunity to open a GAP. not a large or unbreechable gap but a gap when two weeks ago everyone was beginning to hand ManU the championship and talking about Ferguson smelling the fear in his competitors and all. A win leaves Manu And Chelsea TWO weeks to fret about us going top and clear and that kind of pressure never helps generally. So a win tommorrow is well worth seeking. We need to ATTACK and get GOALS-at least a two-goal lead to give us room to protect it late on. I stink at predicting-but I'm going for Villa 1, Arsenal 3-Villa comes out and plays football.NEVER a good Idea against Arsenal. O'leary promises himself he'll play 10 behind the ball the first 60 minutes against Arsenal from now on...

If we come with the right frame of mind we'll win. Simple as that. The only time we came with a positive attitude and didn't get all 3 points was v. Fulham and that was due to bad finishing.
I don't know the score or care to guess, a win first and foremost and a clean sheet as a bonus.

    This match is HUGE!

With Merchandize Utd going down to Wolves today, we could top the table.

    Come on you GUNNERS!!!

This is precisely what the Gunners need to understand. At a time like this, you need ALL guns blazing. This is the time, not to win 1-0, but 4-1 or 5-1. Forget the clean sheet. Demolish the competition. Even if it means opening up the field to yield a goal on a counterattack, this is a game that must be played for the sake of offense, and Arsenal must crush Villa, if for no other reason than to drive the point home that the Gunners WILL take advantage of every possible opportunity to take the lead and stay there.

Having said that, I predict 1-2 Arsenal. Yawn.

No excuses today. They've had an eight day rest, we have the same team that demolished Boro (minus Aliadiere, but plus Toure) and Villa are shite. Playing away should suit our counter-atacking style too. I'm looking for three points, a boost to the goal difference and for Henry to go a good ways towards the golden boot and come home with the match ball.

    Failure will not be tolerated!

Hopefully today Angel will prove that he lacks the class to pull on an Arsenal shirt. I implore you, buy a real striker in the offseason Arsene-there are much better values for the money.

2-0 to the Arsenal, (Pires, Titi)

I agree Bay and besides if you look at where and when Angel has scored his goals they are just about from the same spot and time as henry which leds me to think he'd get in the way more that he would help. come on titi grab another.

Looks like both goals are a tad controversial. Oh, well, thems the brakes. Let's push for another goal or two (although I wouldn't be opposed to yanking Henry for another striker, just to keep him fresh and healthy).

we don't have any other strikers on the bench so its looks as if kanu and titi will finish or keown will be brought on and henry left up top like 2 weeks ago? was that the game? another booking for villa, Barry for a challenge on Freddie

65: Villa counter but Vieira single-handedly breaks up the move
64: Angel tries a through-ball but Cygan sticks out a leg
61: Allback swivels in the area but his shot goes over
