85' Villa comes close again, with a loopy shot by Ings goes over the bar and Leno's fingertips by a foot at most? Yikes!

feck me. i know pepe looked solid in that one game right after the birth of his baby but he's looked . . . meh since. dude is just sharing the ball with villa players like nobody's business.

to be fair, he's probably lacking sleep now with a newborn.

    FT AVL 0-1 ARS

After a really promising start, thanks in no small part to Bukayo Saka's scintillating play and goal, we just couldn't put the game away. Ending up with only 10(3) shots, after seemingly and nervously trying to "manage" a 1-0 lead for much of 2T.

I guess holding Villa to 3(0) shots in 1T is nothing to sneeze at, but they ended at 8(1). And overall it didn't feel like a very good performance by us.

Still we managed to squeek it out. AND furhter solidify 4th place, with a 4-point and 1-game-in-hand cushion. And mission accomplished on "project 3"... 6 pts from 9.

Enjoy the break lads... and PLEASE stay healthy while off on national team duty!

But fvcking great scenes post-match with Saka and Emile Smith Rowe giving their shirts to thrilled boys amongst the travelling loyal.

Not too many of our players left the pitch with their shirts on. :)

Key Difference noticed between Leno and Ramsdale at the end of AET: with 30 secs left and goal kick for Arsenal, Leno sails it out of bounds at center line, giving possession right back to Villa which led to them getting that Direct Kick just outside the box for the last play of the game.

Ramsdale's passing is world's better, and it was quite clear in that moment.

It's appalling. Players are meant to be in the form of they lives when they get kids.

Man if we had a striker this match probably ends 3-0. Laca's touch was shocking his whole match, and he's getting a bit shot desperate.

It’s not intended to be this way but still, having a guy like Leno as the backup is pretty convenient, despite his flaws

Partey was MotM for me today. He is consistently playing at such a high level right now. He’s even improving as he managed a shot with his foot on goal in 1T. ;)

Yeah, I noted at least two glaring examples of him just not being to get a shot off quickly enough so it got closed down and blocked. He did all the other work really well, as evidenced by the contrast of when Nketiah came on, who despite being younger and having not played 80 minutes, still didn't offer much pressing.

man, if our 2 absences were at just about any other positions, it would have been a struggle.

Heading home now after the Atlanta comeback draw, so overall a good day. Thrilled that Arsenal not only rebounded after the 'Pool match but looked strong in doing so. That has to do a lot for the team's confidence. Up the Gunners!

We have three very winable games coming up before things get dicey with Chelsea, United, West Ham and a scrappy Leeds side all in a row.
