The official TEASER is up on Ubisoft's website, which I got from an Ubisoft email titled "The Truth is Written in Blood", accompanied by the following image (click to enlarge) ...
I liked the original one, so I'll be certain to pick this up when it's released. Is there a release date set yet?
well, i can't seem to pull myself away from watching the teaser ... what can we discern from it? there's a very heavy da vinci theme going on here, obviously, reminding me of that windows screensaver from back in the day. sketches of how the hidden blade is constructed and worn on the arm are especially intruiging: and the vetruvian man transforming into an animus symbol. could the sequel be set in the renaissance perhaps, as per rumors? i wonder what we'll see on april 16th through Game Informer, according to this image (the top half is part of teaser, the bottom half i copy/pasted and flipped)? and here's some juicy info from gamespot.com: emphasis mine.
and those symbols down the left side of the site do have a purpose, as long as you have a webcam: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky7unZQl5nc"]YouTube - Assassin's Creed 2 Teaser & Unlocked New Content[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VaEzyqHaZA"]YouTube - Assassin's Creed 2 Teaser & Unlocked New Content(Part two)[/ame]

me likey... are those batwings to attach and swoop down on a victim? i loved the first one... would buy the second the day it came out...
obviously all anyone can do right now is speculate, right? so, da vinci's wing sketch oriented right next to the vitruvian man's right arm might be a hint that, yes, some kind of collapsible wing mechanism can be deployed. whether it's to drop down on an unsuspecting mark, or to be used as a means of escape (to replace the "leap of faith") we'll have to wait and see.
found some more juicy info that is supposedly taken from the game informer article hitting the shelves next week, so it's relatively spoiler heavy: [result]- new weapons including an axe, a hammer, a mace, a spear, 2 different sword types, a spear axe, and 2 smaller blades - you CAN swim - Da Vinci's workshop is in the game - the game opens in 1476 - you will see the countryside of Tuscany - the main character's name is Ezio Auditore de Firenze (a nobleman of Florence) - big names characters are Machiavelli, Caterina Sforza, and Lorenzo de Medici - glide on Da Vinci's flying machine - a new notoriety system governing how enemy soldiers and people will treat you - disarm enemies and use their own weapons against them - each weapon has a special move - 16 unique mission types (no more eaves dropping or pick pocketing missions) - if you get beat up to much you will need to see a street side doctor to regain full strength - hidden objects (like flags in the first one) are there to uncover but this time if you track them down you will get in-game bonuses that make it worth your time - items include, flags, statues, gold coins, etc. - new enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses: archers, elite enemies, dagger wielders, "Brutish" armored troops with heavy armor/2 handed swords/axes, and an intelligent halberd enemy will probe hiding places with their weapons if they think you're near by - while hiding in a hay bail you can assassinate people this time, but it may expose your position. - you can still climb towers and ride horses - the Lorenzo de Medici assassination attempt is in the game. - a night and day sequence in the game[/result] and if the rumored location of venice is where the game takes place, i can only imagine interacting with these landmarks and locales:
one more post and i'll stop having a discussion with myself. an image of the new assassin (from the game informer article?) was leaked and made into a desktop wallpaper. http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/6724/ac2wallpaper.jpg
ok, now seriously, THIS is the last post i'll make in this thread for a while (or until i find some more juicy stuff). the cover of the may issue of game informer has been revealed, with none other than the protagonist from AC2 on it. notice the double-hidden blades.
I can't wait for this game to be released. Ezio, as that's his name, is from a fallen family from Florence so we might get to travel between the two cities. That would be awesome.
damn, i cannot help but think of the landmarks and architecture we'll have at our disposal in both cities then. venice and florence as our playground? Florence Cathedral/The Duomo/Campanile di Giotto Ponte Vecchio
Well, I'm in for one. I wonder if this one will have any online play available, unlike the first one. it would be cool to do a cage match or sorts, two assassins hunting each other down, or trying to accomplish tasks before the other .... there's some fun possibilities in there.
so it's not a follow up on the first story then? or is it a case that the kidnapped guy has other assassin's memorys....which sounds dumb i.m.o.
i haven't read the spoiler - so i can only speculate that the same idea from the first one, the family story is kept in the genetic sequencing and hidden memories has the same continuing plotline... i will definitely be avoiding spoilers on this game all the way through...
so wait,he has the memorys of his "distant relative's" also!!! i dont know if i should laugh or cry at that. oh well as dumb as that sounds, more killing, less animus the better i guess...
who do you think altair was in the first game? distant relative = ancestor (i just couldn't think of the right term at the time).
i believed the whole idea of Altiar was that he was a direct bloodline relative, hence the memorys,as far fetched as that was to begin with.Wiki is about as useful as the person who entered the article. a distant relative could be a cousins husband....hardly in his ancestors blood line but nevermind it's a video game after all.
fine, i said "distant relative" when i meant "ancestor" ... altair is an ancestor of desmond, as is the new guy, ezio. so it looks like desmond's family tree is made up of assassins. hmm, i wonder then what all the fuss was about outside the animus between him and abstergo (made up of modern day templars)? note to self, never quote wikipedia again around these parts.
new unlocked content ... red bull gives you wings! fifth (and final?) piece of unlocked content is available ... showing the main character, ezio. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKl9v_6InVk"]YouTube - Assassin's Creed 2 Teaser & Unlocked New Content(Part five)[/ame]
hey Dills, found anything new and exciting to share? why yes, Dills, i have. check it! New Assassin's Creed 2 Trailer and pretty concept artwork to boot (right click > view image to see larger). and Assassin's Creed 2: Q&A
I'm looking forward to this, and I think the architecture to climb on will be awesome... but can it match the intrigue of the Crusade-era setting of Palestine/Israel? That'll be tough.
